We are a residential roofing company specializing in the replacement of roofs on existing homes. We have 16 full-time employees that are fully trained by the company. All employees receive health insurance and retirement benefits. We do not subcontract out our roofing work. All work is done by company employees. Our employees have over 100 years combined experience working for Swanson's Roofing. We are also know as "The Roofing Dog" in part to our logo of a dog holding a hammer, portraying a roofer. This is the second house we've had a roof replaced by The Roofing Dog. This time we only needed an attached garage re-roofed. They did not try to sell me a re-roof for the whole house even though it could've used it. I only wanted the garage done, and that's all they did. Great job on the installation and the customer service. They recommended a saddle be installed in the roof behind a chimney, and no other roofer had done this during the 40 year life of the house. They even offered to let us throw some of our trash into their dumpster. They also replaced one piece of gutter and downspout, and that was fantastic as well. Very happy with The Dog on both roofs they've done for us.

Very pleased with all aspects of this project by Swanson's Roofing. From the initial visit for the estimate to the final clean-up. We got 3 estimates for our project, and Swanson's was the highest of the 3, but they impressed us so much with their proposal, that we decide to go with them. We knew ours would be a difficult project, because all of our existing plywood sheathing was substandard, weak, and decaying. We would need all wood sheathing torn off and replaced as well as new roofing. They gave us plenty of notice when they would be coming. We are retired, so we were at home to watch the whole process. They showed up on time at 7 a.m. the day of the project. The crew descended on our roof like a swarm of locusts. We counted 14 workers on the roof at one time, all wearing proper safety gear I might add. We watched them work up close from our 2nd story windows, and we got to see what hard work this was, but how skillfully they did it. We asked them to add a few pieces of missing attic insulation and insulation baffles for us, and they willingly did so with a smile. The entire project was finished by about 2:30 p.m. Amazing. They spent a long time (all 14 of them) going through the yard to clean up debris, nails, etc. The roof looks beautiful, and should last a long time. Certainteed provides a 50 year transferable warranty, and Swanson's backs that up with their own lifetime guarantee on their workmanship. Swanson's is a company that definitely understands the concept of customer service. This is something that you don't see too often today. I would highly recommend them to all.

I was very pleased with the service I received. They responded to calls in a reasonable amount of time, came to my house to figure out the problem within a week, and completed the repairs within the following week. All contacts were professional and respectful and I especially appreciated that they responded quickly to phone calls. So far no more leaking!

We were very pleased with the service and quality of product/installation from The Roofing Dog. Both Garrett and Cory worked with us personally to ensure that our expectations were exceeded. We bought our house 1.5 years ago, and although the roof was aged, we weren't expecting to have to replace it for at least a few years. Unfortunately, we discovered that the roof was improperly installed (all of it!), and we sprung some massive leaks during the 4?6 inches of rain that occurred winter 2015?16. We called around town for quotes, and to our dismay, we couldn?t get a callback from just about anybody.
Thankfully, The Roofing Dog contacted us within a couple of days. Cory came out and evaluated the situation on our roof and brought the bad news: our roof was toast. He developed and mailed a very detailed proposal for the replacement of the roof which laid out their policies, what to expect, how they work, and an absolutely impressive list of references (100s of local area homes). Their proposal was pricey, but came with the best guarantee, and the promise that the job would be done right, the first time. Once we bit the bullet and signed the proposal, we scheduled the work to occur in early January?this is impressive in and of itself. Garrett prioritized our roof due to the condition it was in, even in winter.
Their crew arrived right on time at 7:00 am (even a little early) and began work right away. Garrett talked with my wife, and supervised the work. Both my wife and I had to work, so we left them to do their job. They were completely finished before I got home at 4:00 pm, including clean up. The new roof looks amazing, and really has added to the curb appeal of the house. We are SO happy to also know the house is sound once more. We feel like we?ve made a major investment in our home, and we feel pride in our decision to ?do it right? and go for the best in town.
I think the best part of the experience was knowing that The Roofing Dog valued us as people, not just dollars, and that they also obviously take pride in their work. Their commercials aren't hype?they truly want to be the best. If you want the best workmanship, and peace of mind, I highly recommend The Roofing Dog!

Our roof was less than 3 years old when we bought our house (7 years ago) I don't know who replaced the old roof, but a combination of poor work and central Illinois winds, caused us to call in someone to repair our relatively "new" roof. Each time I have been impressed with the professionalism, and courtesy from Cory and his workers. This latest time, I came home from working my night shift, and everything was completed and cleaned up before I pulled into the driveway. That was a relief, knowing I could get a full days sleep in.

They were prompt, friendly and did everything they said they would do. They presented a wonderful quote package-very well done and impressive.
At first we were scheduled a long time out because they are busy-but when our roof started leaking they were able to get us in right away before the next rains hit. We really appreciated that.

My wife and I are extremely pleased with the roof. The new shingles look really nice. The roofers arrived early in the morning and were through with the job by noon. I was amazed at how fast they completed the job. They did an excellent job of cleanup and were very professional in everything they did. I had two small problems after they left and they came back and took care of them in a very timely manner. I can truly say they lived up to everything I had heard about them and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

They installed a new roof.

|The crew descended on my house first thing in the morning and work hard until the job was done in the afternoon. The weather was not good by the end of the day but they all kept working to do the job right.
|My only complaint is that they did not clean up all of the nails the day of the job (it was raining and dark) but did not return the next day to clean up (it was sunny and dry). They did come back at the end of the second day and cleaned up thoroughly. I just wish that I hadn't had to wait that long.

They did everything exactly as they promised! The estimate was prompt and very professionally done--yes, in writing. They were scheduled far in advance, so they explained that it would take months before they could get to us. We made a small down-payment ($500) and a couple of months later they called to schedule the job. The crew began arriving at 6:30am, and they worked hard and steadily all day. The last man left at 6pm, with the job completely finished. As promised, the men didn't play loud music, didn't smoke, didn't yell, and cleaned up the whole area carefully when they were done. The roof looks great and looks just like we thought it would. Very impressive!

These guys are great. They weren't the cheapest bid, but their description of their process and how and why they do things the way they do led us to decide they were worthwhile. And we weren't disappointed.
Tearing off the old roof on the house, replacing decking, and re-roofing was done in a day. Some of the other bits were delayed, first waiting for our painters (before replacing gutters), then some inconvenient weather.
These guys know their stuff.
One thing that disappointed me a bit was the amount of mess inside. We ended up with a lot of sawdust and shingle grit in our attic. This was particularly noticeable over our garage where they replaced box vents with "strip" vents. Stuff we had stored up there ended up covered with crud. I'll grant that it would have been awfully hard to avoid that, but they might have warned us that it would happen.
The end result looks great!

We selected Swanson Roofing to replace our roof despite the fact that their bid was the highest one we received. They explain why their prices are higher, mainly due to the fact that they provide full benefits to their employees (including healthcare and retirement) which is very unusual for a roofing contractor to do. As a result, most of their employees have been with the company for many years, which should ultimately result in a better job being done. We were also impressed by their reputation (from Angie's List reviews and other sources), and the detail of their bid. The bid was contained in a spiral binder with all kinds of information about roofing jobs, many pages of references, and other useful information.
Despite the higher prices, they are a very busy roofing company. From the time we selected them, we had to wait nearly 3 months to get our job scheduled. While our roof had wear and hail damage, it was not at imminent risk of leaking, so we did not mind the delay.
Two days before our scheduled job date (we were given a one week window, but they did our roof on the first day of the window), we received a call letting us know when they would arrive (630 AM). They arrived exactly at 630 AM and immediately got to work. The roof and clean up was finished by 4 PM that afternoon,.
They worked efficiently and carefully through the day. Everything was done exactly as described in their detailed proposal and looked to be well done to my untrained eye. It was also obvious that the roofing materials being installed were of higher quality than those that were being removed. All the employees were pleasant and respectful when I had the opportunity and/or need to speak with them. They did not seem to mind questions I had while I observed them working.
I have heard horror stories about roofing jobs that have gone wrong and the damage that could result. Also, it seems that shingle companies will try to get out of their warranties by saying the shingles were installed incorrectly and/or with non approved materials or by non certified installers. Swanson Roofing uses only approved materials and certified installers to ensure your shingle warranty is honored.

A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. That describes Cory Swanson and his crew of roofing experts.
Cory and his 12-man crew arrived promptly at 7 am on the scheduled day and were hard at work within minutes tearing off the 2 layers of old shingle and removing the old roof windows. They exhibited complete respect for the property; laying tarps to catch debris and constantly running magnets to pick up any stray nails from the yard. As advertised, there were no radios, no loud talking, absolutely no slacking by anyone at any time. And I was watching! Old roof was off, bad decking was replaced (and there was a lot), and underlayment was in place by the end of the first day. Cory also found a major structural defect in one ridge area (which I had suspected for a number of years) that he took the time to jack up and reinforce.
Day 2 they started laying the shingles and installing the new roof windows. Took lunch breaks in shifts so the work never stopped until they were finished. Cory was onsite the entire time, constantly inspecting and participating in all facets of the job. A couple of the guys came back on the morning of the 3rd day to complete the window installation. The window openings were not exactly standard size and presented some unique challenges for them. But they did an exceptional job; the roof windows look wonderful and operate perfectly. They took great pains on the interior trim to make it look very nice.
The roof looks wonderful and I could not be more pleased with it. Their policy to "do it right" really shows. I should never need to replace this roof, but if I did, I would want Cory Swanson's company to do it.

It went very well. I have recommended this company to at least 15 people. Cory Swanson has great people working with him and they know what they are doing. This is totally unlike several other companies in this area. I had a great experience with the "the Roofing Dog" company. Cory returned to fix a small leak in an area near a chimney which is very difficult to seal based on my own experience when I replaced the roofing many years ago. He had folks here working on the leak, AND sent an employee to repair some minor water damage on the interior of a bathroom. I was so pleased, that I requested he return to repair some significant storm damage which occurred when a large limb fell onto the roof. His work was excellent and I could not be more pleased.

arrived 6 am done with roof and all waste picked up 5;30 pm no trash left on site. The guys worked hard and were neat trash was thrown in dumpster as it was created. If I need a roof done again will use same contractor.
