Reliable Overhead Doors

They did the work promptly, coming out the same day and I was very pleased. I've used their service previously.

After having another repair person look at initial problem and assure me that all was in working order, he left. My son tested the garage door opener and nothing worked. I called repair person back was told that I would need a new opener and spring for everything to work properly. Sure enough. Original repairman made "adjustments" and nothing worked. I read reviews on Angie's List and contacted Reliable Overhead Garage Doors. Kevin came out same day and explained the problem and how to fix it. He worked with me to bring the costs down and now all works fine. I did have to buy a new opener, but didn't need a new spring. I would highly recommend Kevin. He is professional, dependable, trustworthy and affordable.

I contacted Reliable on Monday. He asked when I would like to schedule the repair, and I asked if he was available on Wednesday afternoon. He took my information down and told me he would contact me on Wed. afternoon to come out and repair my garage. I took off a half day of work on Wed. for the repair, but he never called or showed up. Apparently Reliable isn't so reliable.

Great. Very responsive, same day service. Quick. They came, saw what needed to be done and fixed it. Also were able to work with our schedule.

Old (original with the house) heavy wooden garage door needed replaced. Gave me an estimate for the new insulated door, and agreed to re use the existing opener. The arrived on time on the day of replacement, performed the work in a professional and relatively quiet manor, After hooking up the old opener we discovered the internal gears were stripped and the opener would need to be replaced as well. He recommended that I purchase a unit myself that was on sale at Menard's and he would install it. Came back as promised and installed the new opener, everything works great.

Kevin provided excellent service. In a prior visit, he had identified the source of intermittent problems we have had with our door: the fact a prior company had installed a spring too small for the door. He said we should wait until it broke before replacing it. We called upon it breaking, he returned promptly, and replaced it. The door now operates much more smoothly, and Kevin was pleasant and easy to deal with throughout all of the interactions that both my wife and I had with him.

Service was extremely professional and very well done. Included a good explanation of the job to be performed, a description of the new equipment versus the original equipment, as well as a general checkup and maintenance of the overall garage door system. It was well done and I greatly appreciated the speed and efficiency of the work. Would definitely recommend and hire again.

timely, quick, job finished correctly

Our garage door spring broke on a Monday morning. I called Reliable just before they opened and left a message. Kevin called me back within an hour and said they could be at our house in 20 mins. They arrived promptly and got right to work. They were done within 45 minutes and on their way. 2 hours total from the time it broke to a repaired door. I can't remember the last time I've had such prompt, courteous, and quick service anywhere or from anyone. If there was a rating higher than A, I would give it to Reliable Overhead Doors. They are definitely on our go-to list for any future garage door-related needs.

I saw the good reviews for Reliable Overhead doors and called them. They came almost immediately and replaced the rusted out cables.  Great service and very fast. I can't imagine they can usually come as quickly as they did for us but apparently we were on the right side of town and they fit us into the schedule.  THANK YOU RELIABLE OVERHEAD DOORS!

Kevin and his assistant were quick, friendly, and professional. They came out the same day that we called and fixed it immediately when they saw that they didn't need to replace the door. This is the second time we've used them and had the same experience for each. Highly recommended.

I identified the torsion spring was broken at 7:00 am when I was unable to open the garage door.  (learned the garage door weighs approx 500 pounds -- those torsion springs are very important !!  The door cannot be lifted easily with 1 spring broken).
Called Reliable Overhead Doors at about 0930.  They agreed to work me in that afternoon after their other work was done. 
Dustin arrived at about 2:00 pm after calling to coordinate.   By 2:30, he had examined the door estimated the cost -- matched final price.  Work was completed by 5:15 pm.
Door works perfectly.  Work area was left in pristine condition.
Dustin was very friendly -- and exuded professionalism.

Wonderful!!  We faced a transportation emergency.  Our heavy, two car garage door would not open.  We chose Reliable based on Angie's List reviews.  Kevin and colleague were timely, pleasant, professional.  And, I was pleasantly surprised about the reasonable cost.

Wow, this was the best repair and fastest service EVER!

My 25-year old garage door had been catching and buckling a bit for months. Then last week wouldn't shut -- it hung halfway down.  I had to pull on it to get it closed. 

I finally had time this afternoon to deal with it.   I looked up garage door repairers on Angie's list.  I liked the reviews for Reliable, plus the fact they seemed interested in actually try to repairing garage doors, not just pressuring people to replace their door. I recently lost my job and retired, so I needed an economical fix.

Here's today's timeline:

4:30 p.m.  Logged into Angie's List and reviewed companies.  Decided to call Reliable Overhead Doors.

4:45 p.m. Called, thinking it was the end of the day, so maybe I'd get voicemail or just be able to schedule an appointment. But no.  Kevin, the owner, answered the phone.  He listened to my description of the problem and said he was on his way to a customer in Champaign, but could stop by on his way back. Great!

6:00 P.M. Kevin called to see if it was still OK to come by. Yes!  He was there in a few minutes.  He was familiar with the problem and knew what to do.  He added an extra strut/brace in the middle of one of the panels, and pounded the top of the frame back into shape. He sprayed lubricant onto the springs and the tracks and the door opened and closed more quietly and with no hanging.

6:30 p.m.  I gave him a check for the service call and parts, and he was on his way. WOW!
