This review is for a room built in 2013. At the time we were ecstatic and recommended TimberBuilt to everyone. We'd used their previous company (BetterLiving Midwest) at a previous home, and hired them again based on that good experience. Fast forward to 2019. We have a room that, while very attractive, leaks everywhere - not only the windows. The windows are just a small part of the problem. When it rains we have to stay home to sop up the water that pours through seams in the woodwork, onto the sills and floor. Our floor is peeling up and the base molding is damaged. This has happened every year to an increasing degree since the room was built. The first year the company blamed it on clogged gutters, which wasn't true. Since then - when the one year warranty expired - they won't talk to us. We've tried many remedies but no one can pinpoint the problem. The roofer said it's not the roof because it doesn't happen every time it rains, and he found no problem with the roof (which was here before the room was built.) The window/siding company said new windows won't help; the problem is in the construction - tearing off and replacing the siding might help, but without taking the room apart it's not certain. We had all the windows re-caulked but it hasn't made a difference. Because the estimator, staff and work crews were so nice and accommodating to work with, we expected to have a room we could be proud of, a showpiece of our home. Instead we constantly have wet towels draped over furniture and lamps we can't use for fear of electrocution. We paid $60K+ for a room whose structure is now likely contaminated with black mold. A one year warranty on a project of this size is ridiculous, and should be a red flag. Shop carefully and don't go by sales photos only. Talk to as many past customers as you can and grill them about follow-up service. We found out the hard way that once our money was paid we were on our own.

Perfectly. Timberbuilt is the best contractor we have ever worked with. From design through finishing, every step of the process came off as promised. The company does not subcontract in any step of the process, and we were pleased with the professionalism of every trade involved. The estimate for when they were going to be able to start the job was accurate, and once the work started, it continued daily through "move-in-ready" completion. We are very happy with our new screen room.

Overall, we were very happy with the job. We were not here for the entire time they were doing the work, but every time we were there it was a good experience. They cleaned up after themselves.
