Excellent! We had historic leaking problems and defective shingles. They addressed all our issues, guaranteed their work, and were substantially less expensive than other bids.

I contacted Steve with Midwest Roofers after I saw his sign in a neighbors yard. From that point on I couldn't have asked for more. Steve came over exactly at the time he said he would arrive, treated me with every respect a cusomer would want. Explained all the details and then promply handled all the details. From that first meeting until the jobs was done, Steve kept me informed of every move. Rain was forcasted on the day the job was to be done, but Midwest was able to get the job done the very next day. They took every care to clean up around the house. Steve made three appointments to meet with us and was early every time - this alone proved to me that he respected me and my time. The roof looks beautiful. Thank you Steve and the Midwest roofers. I would recommend Midwest to all.

From first contact to my last conversation with this company, it was a pleasure and it would be hard for me to give any higher recommendation for any kind of contract work that I would for these guys. Before I had even purchased the home in question, they did a thorough estimate that took into account issues I did not even know existed, but later on in dealing with other contracters and I became aware of the issues this company's reps were able to point to their estimate and say yes, we are taking that into account, here's what we're doing and here's why. So, basically, their estimate (the 2nd lowest I received) was for a quality job that did not cut corners I might not have known about while at the same time an estmate that did not try to overplay certain aspects of the work that other contracters made a big deal out of. They were in contact leading up to the work in case they had to adjust for the weather (but things went off in a timely fashion anyway). They took into account my aesthetical considerations, patiently and professionally. They did a quality job quickly and smoothly. They did a quality cleanup. They followed up later several times to make sure everything was AOK and invited me to contact them if I had any problem whatsover. I could not be more pleased with this company!

They were extremely professional and did the job in less time than quoted. They were informative on exactly what they would be doing, how much each part of the job would cost, and arrived on time and finished before expected. They also were very courteous about my lawn and home and used the utmost care as to not damage or leave any debris when they were finished with the job. I would recommend them, and have, to my friends and family.

This project went smoother than i ever expected. Midwest completed the roof in one day, which was surprising. The attention that was paid to detail was very impressive. I have a very steep roof with lots of landscape and Midwest covered all my plants with tarps. The were very conscience of keeping me informed before, during and after the project. I needed a roof on my house and garage. I asked my family and friends and 7 people i knew had used Midwest Roofers. I called Midwest the nex day to get a proposal and the very next day i had the owner at my door. He measured the roof and said he needed 10 minutes. When he came back he gave me the proposal on a computer print out with a very professional folder. That was the beginning of the service. A week later i called Midwest and told them they had the job. They were at my house in 2 days. They had 10 guys on my roof with 3 labors cleaning all day. My wife and i are very anal about our yard and they kept the yard spotless thru out the day. They finished the roof in 1 day which brought me great relief because i was concerned about rain. They not only replaced my roof but they corrected non roof related. The owner Steve also owns a building company and was well versed in homes. The level of detail that was paid attention was awesome. This company is set up for detail and quality

Steve showed up 15 minutes early imagine a contractor doing that. He was very knowlegable about what was in need of repair even advised us to wait on somethings we asked about because they weren't necessary at this time. His crews showed up right on time the material was delivered right on time and they finished our work about the time steve thought they would and they were so clean and polite it was hard to believe they were contractors. We could not be happier.

Steve Case of Midwest Roofers was great and very helpful. Steve worked really well with my insurance adjustor and even filed an additional report with my adjustor when he discovered more hail damage that the adjustor missed. He and his work crew ( 8 men) were always on time. When they said they were going to do something they followed through. The work crew was excellent. They were on the job three days after I signed the contract. The entire roof on my house was removed and replaced in a day and a half. They did and excellent job making sure the mess was cleaned up. When they left you would have never known they were there except for the fact my roof looked great. Steve followed up on during the job and addressed any concern I had. I highly recommend Steve Case and his company ?Midwest Roofers?. My roof is done. It looks great. My ?Hat?s off? to these guys! Good service and an excellent job.

I called a few companies to get an estimate on some leaks that had damaged the house. On the night of a particularly heavy storm, the water had come into the house and leaked into two bedrooms and the attic. I called Midwest Roofers and Steve Case came the next day to look at the roof. He climbed on the roof, took pictures of the problem areas, explained the two areas that needed repairs, and gave me an estimate for the work that needed to be done. He also told me that the gutters were hung leaning the wrong way so that the water just sat in the gutters. He gave me an additional estimate for that. He had the work done a couple of days later, (immediately after I accepted the contract). The jov was completed in one day. Steve had three workmen at the job and he came to check that everything was done correctly. He gave me a final explanation of all that was done, and some extra work that they did that couldn't be seen from the exterior of the house. Everything was cleaned up very well, and Steve called the next day to make sure I was happy with the job and then called again after a rain to make sure the roof wasn't leaking. He did an excellent job and went above and beyond..

While I appreciated their upbeat attitude at the beginning of the job I was disappointed by their lack of attention to details. This was not a simple job and they should have been more present during the work. The two principles stopped by during the job but did not actually manage the work. Typically this is not an issue but it resulted in damage to my pool heater and more importantly a roof that was shingled incorrectly. When I brought this to Steve and Mike's attention they became a little belligerent. The roof has a slight architectural design that creates a slight bend in the eve. I know it is there because I took photographs before the work was done and of another house that had the same design. The guys who worked on the house didn't speak english so I could not communicate to them that this was not correct. My nephew is a General Contractor and looked at their work confirming that it had been done wrong. And instead of repairing it correctly, which would have required pulling up shingles and laying down a new layer of plywood, they simply used longer nails to force the plywood to bend. I only recently went up on the roof and found out this was their solution even after they said they would tear off the couple rows of shingles, replace the ice shield, and correctly apply the plywood. Instead of doing it right, I now have holes in the sides of my roof where birds are making nests. Not to mention the area around the Chimney leaks.

They did a great job. The job was done in a timely manner and with high quality. There were no surprises, and the communication with the owner (Steve) was always great. Steve was helpful in all aspects including choosing the color/style and helping out to work with our insurance company on the hail damage claim. Most importantly, the crew he sent was excellent and did the job right! I am recommending Midwest Roofers to my personal friends for roofing, and more.

The owner, company and staff are great. I own La Petite Creperie and Bistrot located in an historic building on the square in downtown Woodstock. My roof had been leaking for quite some time, but a recent storm did major damage. I e-mailed Midwest Roofers (Steve Case) in the evening and received a response within minutes. He arrived at my business the next morning and did an inspection of the inside, outside and the roof of the building complete with pictures. He gave me the most detailed written and verbal description of the work to be done and the materials to be used. His bid was highly competative (I received 3 prior bids from other companies). Steve went above and beyond to get the roof replaced in less than a week; the actual work was completed in one day. My business was uninterupted and I did not lose a day of business. Great experience overall. Both Mike and Steve were easy to talk to and extremely professional. Mike came out and gave the estimate within just a couple days of contacting them. He did the estimate on the spot and was right on. Mike was fantastic. He clearly knows a lot about his line of work and immediately put me at ease that his crew was going to do a good job. I especially appreciate that he was patient with my wife and I while we spent 40 minutes debating over which color shingle to go with. He even made a special trip out to our house to show us some selections. The crew did a great job. They left minimal mess around the yard when they were done. They were in and out in a day with a little extra work on the flashing the following morning. I would also make mention of the fact that in the estimate, Mike was about 90% sure that we would need to resheath the roof (at the cost of another $2000). He said they wouldn't know until they actually tore it off, but that was a good thing to bet on. Turns out they didn't need it, that the old planks that were down there were just fine. Someone else could have easily told us that we needed to do it anyway and we wouldn't have known the difference. I really appreciated Mike's honesty. Last thing to note...We didn't get to see the roof until after the crew had left and we noticed that they used black/dark sealant on the fashing on the front porch that clashed with the red brick of our house. We called Mike to ask if they could please do a matching color to help it blend in. Mike had someone out the next day. Looks great now. We couldn't be happier. Thanks again Mike!!!

Steve Case from Midwest Roofers has more than exceeded my expectations. He was very fast in responding to my call. I called two companies to get estimates and the other company (whom I called first) said they would call me back in the morning. They never did. Steve was there when I got home waiting for me. He completed a detailed inspection of the damage and had a written estimate in my hands with in 15 minutes. His workers were polite and hard working. Steve was there every day to check on the progress and make sure that I was happy with the work. We have a good size two story house with attached 2 1/2 car garage. The lower is brick, but the upper half is now top quality Alcoa siding. The entire job was completed in less than three days! After all the work was completed, Steve came to do a final inspection and to make sure that all the nails had been picked up. He spent over an hour going over every inch of our yard and landscaping to make certain that our three kids would not find any nails with their bare feet! I have already reccomended Steve to all of my neighbors. He is a true professional.

The workers at Midwest were very quick. They cleaned up after themselves. They had reasonable prices. The overall experience was very good.

This was a non-emergency, maintenance situation. Existing roof was 27 years old and due. Midwest was one of 4 estimates received. While not the least expensive, they were able to provide most references and seemed to offer breadth of experience. Started sooner than expected. Job ran over 1 day expectation due to previously uncovered need for plywood replacement (reasonably unforseeable). Crew was neat and professional. Clean up was VERY thorough.

Midwest did the roofing and siding on my home and I was so pleased I called them back to do my garage. My garage was 47 years old and really needed a face lift and now looks brand new. The workers arrived when scheduled and cleaned up everything when done. I was very impressed with this company and would recommend it to all my friends. Thanks for a great job.

Angie's list had he fewest negative responses so I called for a estimate. Mike showed up on time for the evaluation of the roof addition replacement. I was very happy that this company would come to Chicago from McHenry,Il to do the estimate and the small job, approximately 25 X 10 feet in size. The shingles matched the ones removed and our garage shingle color. All the debris was removed and the grass was not even trampled. I searched for nails in front of the garage and found none. Now, if the 5 year warranty is honored, and the shingles withstand a 70 mile an hour gale I should remain a happy camper.

At 7:00 AM Monday the crew started preparing to work by covering all possible areas adjacent to the house with tarps to catch any falling debris. Then they stripped off the old roofing materials and placed the trash in a provided dumpster. Then they started to install the new roof and completed the job by 1:15 PM.

Excellent service and communication. Steve immediately recognized when he came out to estimate the job that we needed additional attic ventilation. Both the roofing crew and the soffit vent man did excellent work and cleaned up very well. Good organization of the job. Very satisfied.

Workmen showed up at time promised, completed work in time estimated. Workmen were professional and pleasant to deal with. Cleaned up after job was completed. Owner of company contacted me within an hour of job being completed to make sure I was satisfied with work.

The price had to be reasonably adjusted becuase the tearoff revealed too large of a gap between the boards on the roof (house was built in 1920). The add-on cost was somewhat expected and reasonable. It added 2 days to the job, but the work was done still in a very a reasonable amount of time (2.5 days). Clean up was thorough, and they worked with my schedule, which was appreciated. Note: I had two other bids on this job, and Midwest came in the lowest -- even after the adjustment!

Mike went out of his way to help us with choosing the color and type of shingles. This was the first roofing company that showed any interest in this initial phase of the project. Mike agreed to drive by a house, that we had located, with shingles that we liked. Mike not only drove by the house, but he also talked with the owners and found out the exact shingle that they had used on their house. Mike left samples of the shingles we had picked out along with others and he also provided us with advice on several aspects of the job. The job was scheduled within a few days and the work was started on time. Everything from the roofing crew, to the dumpster, and the delivery of shingles was performed with absolute precision. The roof was completed in one day. Steve came the next day to check on the work and finished up a few odds and ends. I was amazed to find that Mike had left on vacation after scheduling our work and yet everything was handed off seamlessly to Steve. This type off professionalism is a rare find today. So if you want roofers that charge about twice as much, or stretch the job out, or act like they are too busy to spend a few minutes before you sign the contract-I still have the other roofers phone numbers.
