Kovar Construction

We know a person that does wood trim work for Kovar Construction, and knew that person to be a very skilled, professional craftsman. He directed us to Kovar for this large project, and we couldn't be happier with the work they've done for us. From day one to completion, these folks were clean and neat, and cleaning up and vacuuming the work areas at the close of work each day. The fit and finish of the double-hung windows (Andersen Tilt/Wash) and a large bow window (Marvin) is great. We purchased them ourselves from Woodland Windows and Doors in Roselle but with the total assistance of Kovar to be sure sizes and features were accurate so there'd be no problems when installing them. We're really happy with the quality of installation, and the trim work fit and finish inside and out. All the interior wood trim was stained/sealed off-site. The exterior trim wor was done on-site and looks better that what was replaced! Only a few minor tasks remain and as soon as it's warmer their painter will finish staining/sealing the window wood and fixing a few spots where removal of the original windows' trim revealed some gaps; some of the original windows were installed with no insulation and when the original trim was removed you could see from inside the house to the outside! Also, we rushed to get the windows replaced before winter arrived, so not being able to do the final trim staining/finishing was not their fault. We can already notice a significant improvement in the overall warmth of the house, and Kovar's installation and trim work gives it all a great look. As the project progressed, we contracted with Kovar to do several additional jobs for us. We guess that says it all--we asked them to do more work for us. ;-)

I have been using them off and on for about three years. They are very punctual. They do exactly what they say that they are going too. They spend a lot of time making sure that the finished product very nice. For our kitchen and our basement, we gave them some basic ideas of what we wanted and what we did not want and they designed it for us. They are very reasonably priced for the work that they do. I think that they do very high quality work.
