I went through many companies before deciding on Family FLooring then went through many carpets. I paid alot extra to have a certain carpet installed because was told it had a 25 year warrenty against stains. THis year when I did get a stain I had Stanley Steamer come out and try to get it out but couldnt so went back to Family FLooring -was given very bad attitude - told every stain doesnt come out! I also have water damage in my closet and was intending on just having them replace my carpet in closet but after this I will never go back.!

"[Member Name], There has been a definite misunderstanding here. We specifically sold you carpet from our Downs collection due to concerns about your cats and stains. This carpet has a great warranty that basically says that if you stain it, and you and 3M cannot get it out, then 3M replaces the material, and you only have to pay labor. The fact that the stain was blue dye from cupcakes is irrelevant. It is covered. I apologize if anyone gave you any bit of bad attitude, as there is nothing here that would warrant such behavior. In fact, I think our sales staff really nailed the situation here by making sure that the carpet you bought would be covered as your needs dictated. While it is true that some stains do not come out, this carpet has a plan built in that overcomes that fact. Please do note, however, that 3M will only replace the carpet once. Ann Hill, our Vice-President, says that she was waiting for you to get her a copy of your cleaning bill so she could file the claim. That is the part we got incorrect. She forgot that you actually have to initiate the claims process with 3M yourself. Ann will be calling you to give you the 3M claim phone number. They just replaced a little section of our carpet so we thought that their price was too high. I was just looking for someone that actually repaired carpets and not just installed them and when I looked under carpet repair, they came up as someone local here so we went with them. Their price was just very high for what they did so we would probably not use them again in the future.

We got estimate from them and from another business for the pad install and restretch after our basement had some flooding from our sump pumps breaking. They were a referral from Stanley Steemer who had done the restoration from the water (removing old pad and extracting and deodorizing/fungiciding). The contractor who did the actual install and restretch was fast and did a good job including smoothing ripples on our 7+year old carpet and fixing a rip made by the Stanley crew. We were happy overall as he also put the baseboards back on that had been removed when the old pad was ripped out.

We wanted to match the hardwood in our family room which opens into the sun room where we were having the flooring installed. Although Mitch from Family Flooring America, who we worked with throughout, reminded me several times it would not be an exact match (our current floors are 12+ years old), he assured us we could get close. The new floors are beautiful. I don't think anyone coming into our house would ever notice the difference. The types of wood Mitch chose were perfect and the installer worked with us, showing us several stain options, and eventually finding the (almost) perfect match. Mitch was knowledgeable and great to work with throughout the process. The installers (subcontractors) were at our home for 2 1/2 days. They removed the old tile, prepared the floor, installed the hardwood and then stained it. They were on time, completely cleaned up each day and were very helpful and friendly. They also went above an beyond with help with stain choices and suggestions about how to trim around the fireplace. Their suggestions worked out great. The installers just left and we could not be happier. I highly recommend Family Flooring in St. Charles!

I was looking to replace some carpeting with hardwood in my sons' bedroom and was trying to match the existing wood we have in the hallway and master bedroom. I filled out a form to receive a coupon online and shortly thereafter received an e-mail from Karol introducing herself and asking what I was looking for. I explained to her what type of wood we have, the grade and width, and she brought out several samples for me to look at within a day or two. We were able to lay the samples down and I picked out what I thought was the closest match. I had already looked at Empire who was outrageously expensive and only had two colors of oak to choose from (neither matched) and Home Depot who had reasonable prices (they were higher than FFA), but no samples to bring home.
The installation was performed around my schedule and the two installers were fantastic! Not only was the wood an EXACT match for my existing wood, but they lined up the boards with the existing floor for a long, continuous line. They also installed new baseboard and quarter round which look great. When they left, the room was spotless as was my porch where the cutting was done.
The entire process took less than two weeks. My son LOVES his new floor and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend FFA and will definitely use them again in the future.

Art Tarmichael was the sales person. He is very conscientious, courteous and punctual. He came out after we had water damage from storm water. He understood that because it was a basement rec room that I wanted an inexpensive carpet but not a cheap looking one. Brought out several samples and discussed all my options with me. First crew ripped out remaining carpet in an adjoining room and they even vacuumed after they were done.
Second crew installed new berber carpet in rec room, stairs and adjoining room. Did an excellent job. Very courteous and professional. Seemed like it took a long time (5 hours if I remember right), but they were very detailed and I could not find anything out of place. They vacuumed after they were done also.
Third crew (same as first) came out and replaced tack strip that was rotten and causing a lingering smell. Again, courteous, conscientious, and thorough. They even helped me by moving back all the heavy stuff I could not do.
Totally recommend them and will use them in the future.
