"Thank you very much! We absolutely love working for customers like you!"
"This home has had a couple of prior owners. Now, this homeowner has what appears to be 30 year old, original dark brown, stained pine trim with little or no maintenance/upkeep ever performed. Upon on our initial bid, we pointed out that there was already paint splatters throughout the home due to it being painted prior to our arrival. This was an issue which was directly discussed with the owner and he acknowledged. We always cover everything with plastic and drops and we try to do our best to keep the paint splatters to a minimum, however when you are rolling paint off of a roller and onto a wall or ceiling, there are going to be some splatters, that is a realistic expectation. We completed the job on a Friday. By Sunday, in the afternoon , the owner had emailed us and told us that he has been doing some cleaning and found that there are quite a few paint splatters on the wood part of their stairs and wanted someone to come out and clean it up for him. We immediately called the owner and due to his work schedule, we came back out on Wednesday. We walked the entire job with the owner. We cleaned up whatever paint splatters he asked us to do (many of them were pre-existing). We do acknowledge that the bedspread splatter was unacceptable, however we offered to pay for the bedspread. The owner declined and said that they got out the sprinkles and they were all good. The customer also stated that his next project was new carpeting in the home. While we were out there cleaning his home for him, we also showed him a technique on how to rejuvenate his original trim and what products to use in order to enhance the look of 30 year old trim. We try to keep everyone happy and do the best job with what we have to work with. We are very sorry that we were unable to meet the owners expectation of quality. When we went back and re-walked the job and cleaned for him, the owner seemed happy and satisfied. If the owner was this unhappy with our work, it sure would have been nice to know when we were there. We always try to do the right thing and we understand that we just can't make everyone happy all of the time. We are very sorry for your experience, however we appreciate your feedback."
Dan came out and quoted the job in early Summer - he was very responsive and professional. He sent me the quote in the time frame that he promised (I think within 24 hrs.) - and fully explained the scope of work. When he followed up, I told him that we were doing some other remodeling that wouldn't be complete until the end of the summer - and could he wait until the Fall to start. We agreed on a tentative start date - and he followed up close to the date. We gave him the go-ahead and he started in late September. He was not deterred from a change in our plans - and having to wait.
We couldn't be happier. Dan and his team - did a phenomenal job! Even our neighbors told us that our house hadn't looked that good in the 35 yrs. that they lived next to it. They spent a great deal of time cleaning, scraping - and even meticulously sanding the porch floor. The materials they used were top quality - and Dan didn't leave out any detail.
I've had past old homes painted before in different areas of the country, and haven't found anyone that matches the quality that Dan did on our house in Batavia.
Looks great. Outstanding attention to detail. Dan and his crew were on time (or early) every day, were very unobtrusive, and extremely courteous. Dan was not the low bidder; but we were more comfortable with his knowledge and experience. A huge plus is that he is one of the crew and was here from start to finish versus other bidders who stated they would stop by to check on the work. We have arranged for Dan to do some interior work on several rooms.
"Let's make this accurate and correct: Our proposal is dated May 29, 2015. The proposal is for TWO decks NOT one 200 square foot deck. According to the member our price was $1,500---which is also incorrect. Our bid was for less than $1,500 to stain TWO DECKS!!! WE HAVE NEVER DONE ANY WORK FOR THIS MEMBER."
"I am very sorry that this review was posted. This is the busiest time of our season and during these last couple of months, my wife has not been well. My wife handles half of the business and since she has been sick and in and out of multiple doctors, sometimes things just slip through the cracks. Your BID was one of the items. We typically do not run our business this way, however her health has took presence over some items. I am sorry that we have upset you in such a manner that you would feel compelled to give us a review as you have. I do realize that a 30 second phone call would have made a world of difference, however the phone does ring both ways. I hope you can understand and forgive us for not coming out and giving you a bid. I also hope you never have to go through anything like this either. Thank You."
