I decided to go with Gold Coast Granite after visiting Ivan and Armando?s office/showroom. I was only looking for low-cost granite at first, but eventually decided to go with quartz because they gave me a good price and threw-in a lot of services for free. I also saw counters in their office that are out for installation, and I liked the workmanship. I thought that these were cut and polished perfectly.
Before I visited the showroom, I called Ivan at noon to schedule an appointment. He said that he can stop over my house sometime in the afternoon of the same day to get the measurements. In my opinion, it is already a plus point because it is not common for service providers to respond quickly. So, Ivan personally went to my house to get the measurements. Since I told him that I would really like to have the work completed sooner, he invited me to visit his showroom. It was around 6PM, but they are just 4 miles away. I followed him to their showroom on that same day.
I met Armando and he showed me all the finished counters that they are about to install the next day. The quality of work caught my attention. I knew that this is what I am looking for ? the only factors that kept me from deciding at that point were price and turn-around times.
Ivan showed me around the facility. I found the granite that I like, and asked for an estimate should I choose it. He quickly got a pen and paper and did the math. I was astounded (in a good way) on the total cost. It was way lower than I thought. Since the total price for granite was very reasonable, I thought that maybe they can give me a good price for quartz too. There is particular quartz sample that I really like. Ivan did a quick computation and gave his price. It was very reasonable and he mentioned that he will remove the old counter top and haul it away for free. I asked when the work can be done, and he said to give them a couple of days after the order arrives ? that is a quick turnaround time for me. In short, I had them draft the invoice and I signed the contract and provided a down payment that evening.
The estimate that we agreed upon is initially for the kitchen. When I was at a hardware store a couple of days after, I got an additional cabinet and installed it in the kitchen. The new cabinet will need the same quartz countertop, so I called Ivan to redo the estimate. He said that we will need to order a secondary slab of the same quartz material because the kitchen counter that was previously estimated exactly fits one slab. If we get another slab, we will only be able to use half of it since the new cabinet is not that big, but the additional cost will cover the entire slab. It was a potential issue because I don?t want to pay for the entire slab and end up using only half of it. Ivan was concerned about this too and he did not want me to overpay, so he made a compromise. He will use the remaining quartz to replace the countertop on my basement bar and he will do the labor for free. This includes the removal and haul-away of the old bar counter. If you are given that option, I am sure that you will say yes too, just like what I did.
The installation was quick and the father and son team of Armando and Ivan really did well. They clean-up as they shift locations and made sure that the counters are properly installed. Everything was in perfect place and went perfectly well as I have imagined. They also installed under mount sinks to both the kitchen and bar and it made the counters looked prettier. They even threw-in a couple of sink drain basket with strainer for free.
Two thumbs up for Gold Coast Granite. I highly recommend these guys!
