I hired CR Mechanical Services LLC for recommendations from my friends and their competitive pricing.
Rick paid me a visit for a free-estimation the second day I contacted them. He did a careful survey of the kitchen and the attic above and gave me a very reasonable proposal.
During the day of installation, both Craig and Rick came. The work includes removing the existing light above the stove, opening a hole in the ceiling, opening a vent in the roof, running a new power line from the circuit breaker box in the basement to the attic, installing the hood as well as duct through the roof.
Craig and Rick did a great job finishing all the work. They installed additional beams above the ceiling to reinforce the support for the heavy hood, they upgraded the required 6-in pipe to 8-in per my request to make it future proof. More impressively, Craig did an excellent job running and reorganizing the power lines in the attic and made sure everything following the code. He installed two new electrical boxes in the attic and later I was able to easy use one of them to install a few recessed light myself.
The hood has been running great since then, providing enough power to vent all greasy smells from the kitchen very quickly. The vent cap installed on the roof also has been tested numerously by rain. I'm very glad that I chose their service and would strongly recommend them.
