Roselle Custom Woodwork

If we could give six stars, we would. Our kitchen contractor works with several high end cabinet stores, but he told us that if we really wanted to get exactly what we wanted, we needed to go with a custom cabinet maker (which he said would cost about 10% more), and he recommended John Valentine of Roselle Custom Woodwork. From the beginning, John was a delight to work with. He offered suggestions based on his experience, but he listened carefully to what we wanted and never insisted that his approach was better unless he had good reason to do so. When he came to our place for a final review before committing to a definitive design, a design consultant with whom we have been working joined us and we had a wonderfully collaborative, highly productive brainstorming session. John got started almost as soon as we signed off on the project, was flexible with interim adjustments (which included a visit to his shop when the cabinets were mostly completed), and was done several weeks before our contractors were ready to begin the demolition. (The speed of completion was a bonus that we hadn't even appreciated at the beginning; we have friends who began a kitchen renovation after we did - unfortunately for them they didn't consult with us beforehand - and they won't have their cabinets until November!) John, his partner Steve and John's son came last week to install the cabinets, and they are exactly what we wanted, top quality materials, beautifully finished, built with pride.

We cannot say enough about Roselle Custom Woodwork. We worked primarily with John Valentine who is professional and conscientious to a fault. John's partner, Steve Wright, was involved in the installation of the cabinets, and we found him to be very professional and nice as well. First of all, John came to see our space and gave us some good ideas about how he would redesign the kitchen. He was personable and professional and drew up plans right away as we were working with a contractor and there was a timeline involved. John took us through all phases of the custom work, had us come to the shop to see the design which he had all laid out in the work area of his shop, and showed us the how well built they were. We were extremely impressed with the quality of the plywood! John helped me choose the placement of certain aspects of the kitchen as well as the special items we needed such as the utensil pull-out drawer , the garbage pull-out, the mixer cabinet that pops up when needed, the silverware drawer and the partition compartments above the refrigerator for storage of trays, cookie sheets, etc. Marvelous!!! John's attention to detail was second to none. We never imagined our kitchen would look so beautiful and it is all thanks to Roselle Custom Woodwork! We would not hesitate to contact them in the future for any job as no job is too large or too small for this excellent company. They deserve the best recommendation available!!

John and Steve were very attentive and provided suggestions to get the job completed properly. The price was very fair for the personal attention that they provided for this small job.

I contacted this company last month through Angie's List, and never received the courtesy of a response. My job was a small one and maybe too small for this company, but it would've been more polite and professional to respond letting me know that they couldn't take on the project.

I would give them an A on all accounts.

Gorgeous custom kitchen cabinets, perfectly manufactured and installed, absolutely everything we wanted and hoped for. Even better was their customer service. Even though it was very very minor problem immediately came back and fixed it, as you would expect from a professional. I would absolutely use Roselle Custom Woodwork again, and would recommend them to everyone.

These people are incredible to work with! Just excellent craftsmanship. Its taken me years to find someone who could build me a custom mantel shelf on flagstone brick. I love my custom mantel and get a lot of compliments on how gorgeous it is. I would recommend Steve to anyone and I would rate them more than an A if I could.

Jeff is extremely, professional and knowledgeable! After another ‘professional stainer’ botched one door, we called Jeff up and he came over to see the stain on our cabinets that we needed to match. We then went to Lowes and picked up a new door. He also took the stain that came with our cabinets . A day later, he came over with samples of the different versions of the stain he had. We decided which one matched the best and 2 days later, he came back with our door. It is beautiful! I thought his charge was a bit high as the door had a full glass insert, and there wasn’t that much wood to stain. But it turned out very nice and is a great entry door into our master bath!

It went very well. They always provide excellent service, expert information, and quality work. In this case, we chose to go with the new Cambria countertops. We were very pleased with the product and the installation. They also designed and installed our entire kitchen cabinet array in 2004. We appreciate working with Steve and John, and have recommended them to friends any time we have the opportunity.

We worked primarily with John. He was very responsive, professional. We asked to have the project moved along quickly, but it didn't due to other construction delays, not his fault. We did make a few design decisions that, in retrospect, we wish we had not made. John's experience was very helpful -- he added ideas and design considerations so that we were happy with the end result. We did feel the cabinetry pricing was a bit high, but felt that they were capable of doing a fantastic job. We were right. Our contractor's granite supplier/fabricator was $1000+ less than John's. I asked if they were taking a profit from use of their fabricator, and they were, which probably explains the difference in price. They worked well with the contractor who was handling the balance of the remodel. During installation, they kept the job site clean, arrived on time, and were pleasant while here. I would recommend using them for a bar. Many kitchen designers we interviewed just did not have the experience in bar design.

They did beautiful work. They're expensive but the cabinets wonderful. They offer very personalized service and recommended someone for our granite counter-tops as well. They've been helpful any time we've called for other things.

DID A WONDERFUL JOB FROM START TO FINISH. STURDY, QUALITY CABINETS, WITH GREAT ATTENTION TO DETAIL. PROFESSIONAL TO WORK WITH AND VERY RESPONSIVE TO CUSTOMERS' DESIRES AND CONCERNS. A PLEASURE TO DO BUSINESS WITH AND WOULD DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN OR RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.

Offered suggestions for material choices. Trustworthy, clean, punctual, great communication. Followed up periodically to see how thinks are working. Excellent craftsmanship! I call on this company for suggestions on who to call for other repairs in my home.

The workmanship is absolutely fantastic. Their cabinets are strong and durable, while being extremely beautiful. They worked so well with us as we designed the units and offered many suggestions that made the layout work. The selection of the finish was a much easier process than we thought it would be. They made several samples for us to live with a several days and we love the finish and color as much today as we did several years ago. They also supervised the measuring and installation of our countertops. One of the partners was at our home when the stone was installed to make sure it fit correctly. When we wanted a couple of built-in cabinets in our bedroom, we didn't go anywhere else (nor would we when we do our bathrooms). Both Steve and John were so easy to work with and made us feel like we were they only clients, which I knew wasn't the case when we visited their shop. They are very experienced and that was important to us. Cost certainly was factor, but the construction and look of the cabinets were just as important. Over the years, we've had a couple issues with the drawer slides. Within a day of calling them, they came to our home and fixed the problem. We have recommended Roselle Custom Woodwork to our friends. They, too, were so happy with their work. If you want quality workmanship, reasonable cost and a great working relationship with a vendor, this is the company to use.

Workmanship is very precise and high quality. They have always been willing to come for large or small things. They came to re-secure a sagging cabinet 2 years after installation at no charge.

Pleasant and timely. They perform very high quality work with high quality material. I used them numerous times over several years for bathrooms, family rooms, and bedrooms. They were always prompt and helpful and although I was not getting a low price bargain, I did receive very high quality products that exactly met my requirements and aesthetic desires and I felt very comfortable working with them to get the furniture I desired.

We had an excellent experience on both projects. Timely drawings and follow - up. Quality craftsmanship and attention to detail produced exceptional results at a savings. Couldn't be happier. Would recommend without hesitation.

We sent the company pictues of how we wanted our bar to look. They made a drawing of what it would look like and sent it to us with an estimate of how much it would cost. We decided we liked it so they came an took some measurements of where we wanted it to go. They custom made it in their shop and came to our house and installed it. We love it!
