Mark comes in an gets to work. He cleans up after himself as he works (I could hear him running the shopvac and using the broom as he went along. He is very careful about keeping your house clean, putting down plastic, tarps, and crate paper to keep your house clean.
His tools are good quality and in nice shape. His van has different tools which he uses during the day.
These are lots of little things which I would not have thought about when hiring someone to work on my house. But when you add them up they made (in my mind) a big difference.
The other thing I liked about Mark is he did the work himself. He sometimes has a helper who works with him. But Mark is responsible for the work. The reason I think this is important is because he has a vision and understands how the complete project will look. He also has a sense of ownership on the entire project.
I have tried to use a general and sub-contractors in the past. But my experience is the general needs to carefully supervise the subs. Otherwise the subs do not always know how all of the pieces of the project works together. In the past I hired a general who was not there all day long, and the subs would make mistakes impacting the entire project.
I hope Mark will help me with additional projects in the future.
