They were excellent with the communication. The workers showed up on time as scheduled. The construction area was contained so as not to infringe on my neighbors. The area was made safe every night.

He was very nice. I just wanna hear opinions on what I needed on the foundation and he said no. He gave me some advice on what to do. He's very nice. I certainly would consider using DAVE PATE & SONS CONSTRUCTION LTD. He seems to really know what he was doing.

Dave came out the day after I called.  He listened to our concerns and took his time checking out our house.  In the end, he was able to say we did not have a foundation problem.  He was honest, helpful, and was able to tell why we were seeing some cracking in our walls!  There was no charge!

.Every thing went great . This is a company you can trust and depend on. Being in the business since 1938 speaks for itself. My wall along side my basement stairs was bowed by several inches. I couldn't even put trim on my doorway. They took my stairs out and poured a new wall which was reinforced , it will never move now. They put in a new garage floor, looks great. I've had other contractors over for other things and they ask who did your wall, they did a good job. It's all backed by lifetime warranty which is transferable. I have to give them A+ on everything.

We were starting to do a renovation of our kitchen and dining room when a contractor who was giving us an estimate told us that we first needed to have our dining room addition raised.  It was the only section of our house that didn't have a basement and it was sinking too much for us to replace the flooring.  I had noticed that it was sinking a little and that the patio door was off it's track, but within a couple months with the drought, the room had really dropped.  I called several service providers and it was difficult to find someone who does this type of work.  I was able to find 3 and received estimates.  The estimates were all over the place as far as price and actual services provided.  Dave Pate & Sons came out and gave an estimate.  He said that there was 2 possible solutions depending on the root cause, and wasn't sure which it was.  He explained the two solutions and pricing and said that the only way to know for sure was to excavate a portion of one of the walls to determine how deep and thick the foundation slab was.   The other 2 providers knew "for sure" what the issue was - but the issue wasn't the same for both estimates.  I decided to have the foreman for Dave Pate come and excavate.  He said it would be $200 for him to come out.  I agreed, and the foreman came out within a week to excavate.    Dave Pate & Sons determined that the foundation was deep enough and thick enough, so the solution would be to install 2 helical anchors to raise the foundation.  This was the lesser of the two options as far as pricing.  I decided to go with Dave Pate to do the work.  He waived the $200 excavation fee which wasn't part of the original deal.  3 weeks later they came out after obtaining the proper permits and installed the anchors.  They removed 2 bushes (i did not want them to try to save them) , and took down a small portion of a fence to get to the addition.  They worked around my deck and were very diligent and respectful.  To finish they stayed way past dusk and worked with their own lights to finish up.  They replaced my fencing and the deck railings.    They even filled in a gap between the basement foundation and the slab where mice had gotten in due to the angle of the slope.  They went above and beyond their actual contract.  They ended up raising the foundation a couple inches.  Dave Pate & Sons was very professional and reasonably priced.  We haven't had any issues since.  The dining room flooring was later put in and there is no slope.

The garage foundation had 2 cracks, making an "L" shaped section. After a very dry summer of 2012, that section of the foundation fell about 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches.
Dave Pate & Sons was the first company I was referred to by a neighbor. (It's difficult to find companies that do this type of work. I even called Angie's List to get recommendations, but there isn't a separate category for this type of work.) I was also referred to a local structural engineer who I hired to perform an independent review and he referred me to several companies that do foundation lifting.
I received a wide range of estimates. Dave Pate's was the best price, but that isn't why I chose them. They have a history of correctly diagnosing a problem, arriving at a solution, and their work is guaranteed and goes with the house (eg with future owners of the house). David Pate told me he has never had to re-do work. I verified that later with the foreman who said in the years he worked with them, he had not been on a project where they re-did any work.
The drought created many sinking foundations, so it took a while to schedule the work. They were able to pull out only 3 bushes and did not have to remove my fence (the fence post) to do the work. They placed plywood in the area for the equipment to set on and set the bushes aside. I was able to observe their work - it's quite impressive. It was a 3-day job; they cordoned off the area after hours. After they completed the foundation lifting and other related work, they put all of the dirt back into the holes and also replanted the 3 bushes (which wasn't the original plan -- I was going to have a landscaper do it). Brian Pate, Ignacio, and the crew were great. These guys are experts.
The garage foundation is back in place. They also filled and plated the two cracks after the foundation was lifted.

About 10 months ago we noticed several sizable cracks in our living room walls surrounding the bay window. Roughly five months later our front window was situated on an angle, our front door would barely open or close and there was a huge crack in the living room floor slab.  At that point we new we were in trouble!  We contacted a local firm for an estimate.  They informed us that one corner of our house was sinking due to drought and soil conditions.  Foundation repair is not their primary business and they were not even going to get a building permit!!  We were not comfortable with that firm and promptly contacted Dave Pate & Sons, who specialize in foundation repair.  Dave came out to inspect the situation and provide us with an estimate.  He was very reassuring in what would need to be done and we immediately felt relieved that we would have satisfactory results.  The job began about 3 weeks later and took 4 days to complete.  Five piers were installed around the sinking corner and the house was lifted.  I can't say enough good things about this company.  The crew was extremely courteous and respectful of our property.  Their work product was exemplary and at this point you can't even tell that construction took place.  Bryan Pate was on site most of the time and again was reassuring and made sure that we knew exactly what was going on and what to expect.  These guys are good!!!  While their price was a little higher than the first firm, they really know what they are doing and you can be assured the job will be done right.  We would highly recommend their services.

This review is long overdue but well deserved. I can't say enough good words about David Pate. He has a quiet certitude about what he does. Very thoroughgoing and businesslike. We love old homes, but unfortunately, they're not always well-maintained. Since we want to be safe both physically and financially, any home we see that has a questionable foundation needs to be carefully assessed. David is exactly the man for the job. And, had we bought either of these homes, would've been the man for the job to fix them, since he clearly knows his business, knows old houses and has been doing it long enough to almost instantly recognize what will be involved in completing a competent repair. My real estate agent was so impressed with him, she asked for his materials and will be sharing them with clients in the future. When you have something as fundamental and important as a home foundation to address, David has exactly the high level of expertise that will put your mind at ease, knowing the job will be completed right the first time.

This was a pretty good size project. They were prompt and cleaned up after themselves pretty well. They did very good work. I have to say though they were definitely one of the more expensive choices, but we wanted to go with someone who had a very good reputation rather than the cheapest person. We would use them again if we needed. For any kind of big job, they are the best in the business. I've heard that from every contractor and architect I've talked to.

THE WORK CREW FROM DAVE PATE PROVED TO BE VERY COMPETENT AND HARD-WORKING. THEY ARRIVED ON TIME, TOOK AS MUCH CARE AS POSSIBLE WITH THE AREA SURROUNDING THE REPAIR SITES, AND WERE VERY POLITE. IT WAS EXTREMELY HOT THE DAY THEY SPENT UNDER THE PORCH WELDING, BUT THEIR PACE NEVER SLACKED. THE COMPANY SENT A REPRESENTATIVE TO CHECK ON THE SITE THREE TIMES DURING THE PROCESS. ALL EQUIPMENT (AND THERE WAS A LOT OF IT) WAS BROUGHT IN AND TAKEN AWAY IN A TIMELY MANNER.

THIS WAS A BIG, EXPENSIVE PROJECT, BUT DAVE'S PRICES WERE IN LINE WITH THE OTHER QUOTES WE RECEIVED AND THEY DID EXCELLENT WORK. THE CREWS WERE PROFESSIONAL AND CONSIDERATE. I HOPE THE NEED DOESN'T ARISE, BUT I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN WITHOUT HESITATION.
