SL Construction

Back in 2014 SL Construction put a new roof on our home. Back at that time it was rough going. After the crew started tearing off the East side singles, we had a bad thunderstorm that night, and my daughter and I woke up at 2:00am to find water running into our bedrooms during a thunderstorm. We got buckets to catch water in both bedrooms and the attic. Eventually, Scotte Lemke did get better tarping and did have tiles in bedroom ceilings painted. Roof was done end of July 2014. Then in October 2014, noticed another water stain in my daughter's bedroom ceiling. After 6 weeks, Scotte finally had his guys put a little tar in a shingle at valley of a dormer just above daughter's bedroom. I had concerns back then that it wasn't enough to really take care of the problem. Now, on February 7th, 2016, we noticed another water stain in the same spot in my daughter's bedroom ceiling. I tried reaching Scotte Lemke for 2 weeks before he ever answered my calls. He said he would take care of the leak, and would ask a friend of his that worked for another roofing company if he had any ideas about where leak could be coming from. I was upset because stormy weather was in the forecast, and with more phone calls to Scotte, he would never pick up his phone, and would call back after a few days with "excuses" as to why he hadn't been out to take care of the problem. He said that he had personal problems, had lost everything, and that he had to take new bids and make money when jobs came up. Therefore, if the weather was nice, he had to take new jobs to make money. When the weather was bad, then he couldn't seem to get to my roof because of weather. I put up with this crap for 5 weeks before realizing that this guy really isn't going to fix this, and we needed to do something before more bad rain storms came in. Thru this process of trying to learn more about SL Construction/Scotte Lemke, I realized that he used another contractors roofing license on our home and our neighbor's home for the permit back in 2014. Over the past 3 weeks I've asked him to give us a copy of his roofing license, but he just never seemed to be able to do that. This guy is just chasing the almighty dollar. If there's money to made, then he's there, but once the job is done, and he's been paid, forget it. He's too busy getting new jobs. He doesn't care about his old customers. Also, I've been told by a couple other contractors that because our house wasn't decked back in 2014, and that some of the roofing nails didn't hit boards in the attic, then we may have leaks in nail holes, in which case the entire roof may need to be replaced. What a crappy job!! My last contact with Scotte was last Wednesday, March 16, 2016, when he said he would be here the next day to fix a shingle near the chimney. I told him to bring a copy of his roofing license. I haven't heard from him since.
