Jeff Ritter, Machesney Park, IL claims to be the owner of Raintree Seamless Gutters, yet I hear the name Steve Lizer associated here, also? Not sure. Anyhow about 6 years ago, Ritter and his sons put up all new gutters for me, late summer of 2016. In the spring, one of the corners was POURING water, during a bad rainstorm. The gutters were 6 months old. Have had problems with LEAKING gutters ever since. I call him back every year to come and fix them. He claims "he doesn't know why" they keep leaking? Really? Then, maybe you should be in another trade, because I bought new gutters so they wouldn't leak anymore! A couple years, he never showed up to fix them, because it rained too much, then got cold, etc. so many excuses. I have records of text messages to him, as well as emails, with videos showing the water leaking from several of the corners. He did come and replace the 6 corners in 2019, but guess what? They STILL leak! I called him in 2021 to come fix and no response, ever! I went up there myself with gutter goop to try and fix this ridiculous problem: leaking gutters! Don't waste your time and/or money hiring this guy.

TERRIBLE !! I HAD MY GUTTERS REPAIRED AND LEAFREE GUARDS INSTALLED LAST JUNE, 2016. IN APRIL 2017, I CALLED FOR HELP WITH A CLOGGED DOWN SPOUT. TWO MONTHS AND FIVE ADDITIONAL CALLS AND EXCUSES AND THE DOWN SPOUT STILL REMAINS CLOGGED. TOTALLY UNACCEPTIBLE.

Fall 2012 Raintree replaced my porch roof which was damaged by hail. In May of 2013 I noticed that 6 of the 9 skylights were broken-all in the same area. I left voice messages and I even was able to speak to a woman on one of the calls. she said she would look into it and get back to me-she never did. After several calls the owner did come to my house to check out the problem. I was not home and I did not know he was coming to my house. He cleaned out the porch gutters, which I appreciated, but he would not have seen where the problem is since he needs access to my porch. I did e-mail him in August 2013 and asked if he could come and look again at where the problem is--there was no response. I am very disappointed in their response where there is a problem due to either product failure or an installation problem. The previous porch roof was in place with no damage for over 19 years...this replacement lasted less than 9 months. I am not sure what to do next.

"I did go over to [member name removed] home to assess the problem. On the first visit, I cleaned her gutters on the screen room, thinking that was causing a backup. Since is was a very dry summer, I never heard back from her about any further leaks until fall. I have since repaired several cracked panels and added new flashing from the shingled roof to the aluminum roof to prevent water from entering the screen room. I have not heard of any other leaking issues since then."

During the first rain we had leaks, called them and they responded quickly. At the next rain we had another leak in one of the same areas they had previously repaired. We have called and left messages about a half a dozen times but have had no response. Disappointing.

They installed gutter guards, which are supposed to prevent debris from clogging, however, the gutters still become clogged. We have marine locusts, which have extremely small leaves, so that could be why the leaves are still able to get through the guards.

"2/28/2013 I must disagree with Member, but she does have the dates and facts incorrect. We originally installed LeafProof on the upper front of her home in September of 2008. My sales person reminded the Member that the front channel of the LeafProof must be easily maintained from the ground with a garden hose. This process is also described in the warranty they received with the invoice. On 9/22/2009, we returned to their house after a complaint about a leak and cleaned the LeafProof for them at no cost. After another call from the Member on 7/29/2010 we again cleaned the LeafProof at no cost. But at that time told the customer they had to maintain the product as described the warranty and we would not return to do that without billing them for the service. We never received a call from them after that."

They did a good job, and got it done quickly (within a day) at the price quoted. He was very dependable, showed up on time and did what he said he was going to do. I was completely satisfied with everything he did and I’d recommend him!

Overall the job went well and was completed to my expectations. It took alot longer than expected (3-4 weeks). I think some of the time delay was due to the heat since the guys doing it who were more middle age and took some days off.However, the days they came at 9 or 10 am and left at 2 pm and took a long lunch break. Because it took long, my backyard got destroyed due to going back and forth along with the dryness of the summer.
I do like that they are a local company and hire local workers. I would give the ovarall grade of a B+ rather than just a B, but wasn't able to above. The price was very good compared to the other quotes we received and the quality was good and more importantly was not left unfinished. I heard a lot of stories from other homeowners that the contractors never come back to finish the job.

At one time in the past, they put the gutters on my house and did a nice job. This time around, I had the guy replace the downspouts. He did a terrible job, and I had to call him back to make it right. It was very disappointing. They did repair it and correct it to my satisfaction, but I shouldn’t have had to do that. I will not refer them to anyone, and I will not use them again in the future.

"We did the original installation of just the gutters for the member in 2005. He called us back to add new downspouts in 2011. I am sorry the member was not satisfied when we added the new downspouts for him and I did apologize for that. After I looked at the work we did, I was in total agreement with the member. We repaired our mistake and the member was happy. Again, we did not do a great job on our first visit, but we promptly corrected the problem."

Immediately after I hired Raintree, we had several days of constant rain which obviously delayed the installation date. The representatives I spoke to where all very good about returning my calls and communicating to me how quickly they could start work once the rain stopped. They came out when they said they would and didn't leave a mess of any kind. The work they did looked good and must have been done well because I no longer have water seeping into my basement when it rains.
There is one thing that sets them apart - it involves the wood railing that runs along side my front steps. It was broken and probably got in their way when they were working on the gutters and downspout in that area. To my great astonishment, I found they had nailed it back in place. Their effort may have only taken two nails and two minutes, but I really appreciate what they did. Whenever I look at that railing now, I just think that Raintree must be a company of good, decent people.

I can not recall how much we spent but they did a very good job. They even fixed sub par work from previous contractors and repaired rotten eaves so that the gutters would work properly. They went above and beyond to do the work.
