They did a very good job. They came in and did everything they said they would and I'm happy with the work.
"Hi [member name removed], I'm sorry you've had a bad experience. Please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] and let me know what happened to reflect such a poor score. I would be happy to see if there is something we can do to turn your experience around. Thank you, Stacy Wallace"
While waiting for the cabinets, LDR installed drywall and taped .By August, my kitchen was still not any further along, my appliances were still in the dining room, and I had no water in the kitchen--so I had been eating out for 5 months. For 2 months I received a phone call from the LDR owner every couple weeks advising me that he was behind on another job and would get to me when finished with it. Finally, I told him that my patience was tested, and I wanted my kitchen and my life and wanted to be certain that insulation had been installed before the drywall went up. He showed up to review the job while I was at work andleft in a rage before I came home. Another contractor was installing a fence on my property at the time and asked who was the contractor in my house because he came charging out the door shouting expletives and said he was not coming back. In fact, he never did return-likely because he had not installed any insulation before putting up the drywall. He never returned to my property.
I went to Lowes and found that all of my cabinets had arrived months earlier and were awaiting delivery. I also learned that this owner was actually working at Lowes. I made an appointment with the manager to air my complaint because it was Lowe's that had referred him to me when I was first looking at cabinets. The manager gave me a refund of 10% on my $23,000 of cabinets and arranged for another contractor to install them for me. My house is 100 years old and never had insulation in the walls, but given that I am in northern Illinois and have very cold winters, clearly any contractor would know to nsulate walls before putting up drywall. I finally got my kitchen, without any insulation, in September for a total cost of $27,000. I was very unhappy yet glad to have ended the fiasco and was unwilling to have someone else tear up everything in order to insulate and take another couple months before I would have use of my kitchen.
I would NEVER recommend this company for anything.
