BRIGGS FLOOR SANDING & REFINISHING

They arrived right on time, did a great job. Floors are beautiful in our 100 plus year old house. A very fair price.

It went well.  We were told that it would take 1 1/2 days for them to finish; we could walk on the floors that second evening and probably return the furniture to the rooms the following day. However, the floor didn't dry as quickly as they thought and we had to wait another day to put the furniture back in.  The odor wasn't as bad as other people say it is.  A lesser odor lingered, though, for about a week.  Dust was hardly an issue because their machines suck a lot of it up, and Briggs blocked off other rooms with heavy plastic.  Overall, a very good experience; floors look fabulous!!

My husband had set up an appointment for 6pm, but never received confirmation on the appointment. Steve showed up at our home at 5:45 pm. He rang our doorbell at 6, but since I was in the shower (unaware of the appointment) he sat in his truck until I could get ahold of him via cell phone (6:05pm). Steve gave us a great quote, and we proceeded to book service. He called a few days before our scheduled job and asked if we could move the date since he had a general contractor push out a project. We could not move the date, and he seemed annoyed. We then called the day before and asked if he would assist in moving the appliances from our kitchen since it wasn't in the written quote. He stated that wasn't included in the quote and would not. We threatened to cancel the job since we were concerned about disconnecting the gas line for our stove, and he told us there would be a cancellation fee for canceling the job within 40 hrs per IL state law (no such law exists.) My husband called Steve later in the day and asked if he would assist in disconnecting the stove/fridge and he proceeded to say the job had been a hassle from the start and he wasn't going to do the job anymore. Very unprofessional.

Did an excellent job. Entire job took about 3 days to sand down all surfaces and refinish with 2 coats. Left the home cleaned up each day and took out all debris. Actual cost came in at $750 under bid.

Steve and his guys knows what they are doing. Very reasonable in cost. a little hard making initial connection....but flowed well afterwards
