I work around his schedule, basically, because I'm retired. He's a pretty decent kid. He does a good job, especially on the mowing. On the other stuff, he's a little higher priced than what I would like. On a couple of small paint jobs, such as painting around the front door, I thought he was pretty high. I didn't hire him for that.

Brian was very professional and did very high quality work. He brainstormed with me on what could be done to fix the grout tile problem we had in our kitchen, gave me several options for what type of door handle we could install and brought out samples of materials we could use for the projects. He worked carefully and efficiently. The fees for his work were very fair. Brian was very conscientious of my wishes, time and specific needs. We will definitely call him again when we need more help! :)

He recommended some repairs I chose not to make. My only complaint was that I was not given a written quote--just over the phone. It makes it harder for me to document the repairs. The work was done well.

If you need a handyman, I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. Brian was completely unprofessional: he failed to clean up after himself, failed to complete work in a timely fashion, needed multiple visits for basic measurements, failed to appear twice for scheduled appointments and was unapologetic for his no shows and the unreasonable amount of time it took him to complete the job. I hired him to complete a list of small repairs. He was able to accomplish all items but one on the list within about a week after hiring him. I hired him in early May and specifically stated that I wanted screens put in five windows for the summer. He finally delivered the screens five months later on September 26, 2013. He left them propped on my front porch and my husband ended up installing them. When I pointed out to Brian that five months is an unreasonable amount of time to wait for screens, especially when the whole point was to have them for summer, he responded that we never discussed a time frame for completing the job. In fact, at the time I hired him, he told me that the work should take no more than two days- of course, he failed to mention that those two days would be spread out over a five month period. He also claimed that it only took him two hours of labor to complete the screens but offered no explanation for why it took him five months to deliver them. I told him that I would be wiling to give him a second chance if he gave me a significant credit in light of the five month wait including spending the whole summer without screens. He claimed I was being "greedy" because he actually did me a favor by making screens which would have cost me 20% more if I had purchased screens from a store (it was clear that he did not care that I did not have screens for the summer, that I had to make multiple trips home to let him in because he couldn't measure the windows accurately the first or second time all of which cost me more in my own billable time than his "20% savings"). His courtesy for customers is limited to repeating "thank you for the opportunity to work on your home" ad nauseam.
It is clear that Brian believes only his own time to be of value. He has no regard nor respect for the time of his customers. I should have cancelled the contract on the first day I hired him, when, after learning I am a lawyer, he asked me how he could sue a past customer for failure to pay (I would not be surprised if the non-payment was due to underperformance and overcharging by Brian). I gave him the benefit of the doubt instead- which turned out to be a mistake. I had to leave my office on multiple occasions to let Brian into the house to measure and re-measure and re-measure again the windows for the screens. Twice, he was a no show which was very frustrating as I am very busy and I also charge by the hour. After installing the attic ladder, he left piles of wood shavings in my hallway and on my front porch. When I came home from work, the first thing I had to do was vacuum which made me very unhappy- if he is going to charge $400 per day, he can darn well clean up after himself. I called him and told him I didn't appreciate having to clean up after him and he did not apologize for the inconvenience on that day or any other. He seems to believe that if he makes a good repair then overall professionalism including timeliness, dependability and good manners are unnecessary. I wondered if my experience was an aberration but see other reviews with similar complaints. I do not think he will maintain an A rating if he continues with this kind of hit/miss record. If you are willing to pay for excellent service- don't take a risk on this guy- definitely not worth the hassle.

Always promptly returned calls when we were discussing what needed to be done, and when to do it. Work was completed promptly, and quality was excellent. Picture of work done under sink is included in review.

It went well. Brian came on a Sunday, took out the window and boarded up the space. The replacement took a little longer than he had expected because the supplier had shipped the wrong size. Brian called us to tell us it would take longer, but that was no problem for us as the window was in the bathroom and not noticible from the outside. The new window was put in late afternoon on a Thursday, 2-3 weeks later.

It went great! Recently moved into a new house and as my husband is not very handy I went to Angie's List and found Brian. Called him and told him what I needed done and in a few days he came over and checked everything out and made notes as to what equipment he would need in order to complete the job. Had a big list of things for him to do and he completed all of them in one day.

Brian take pride in his work and it shows. He was always careful before he did anyting to re-check with me to make sure he was doing it right. He was very polite and serious about doing a good job no matter what he was completing from my list.
We will have him back in the future for any other repairs we may need.
Thank you Brian!

He was prompt and courteous.
A little high on the price.
The price was "OK", considering that he needed to go to get parts.

The guy is great! He did a good job, promptly and was courteous to my tenant. Someone threw a stone through my tenants window and looked all over for a board up service before calling Brian. The board up services didn't want to do it because it was such a small job. The only one who was willing to do it wouldn't come until the next day! I needed him immediately because I could not get there myself from 60 miles away and Brian went there within an hour of the initial call. I couldn't ask for better service.

Fantastic. The shutters needed a little readjustment to fit and he invented a way to fill some space so that the shutters fit beautifully and look perfect.

Everything went well. He was a little late getting here but once here he got busy and got things done. I was very impressed at how hard he worked. He did a good job on everything he did.

The cost is about 3000 and the date is approximate, the project
was to drywall a room with a closet and the ceiling. He quoted 1 price
and went back on it and asked for almost twice. The time total was
almost 3 months to get just the 1 room done. Once done, he missed
parts on the wall and ceiling. It wast flush and overall poorly done.
He
also wired the outlets and lighting/switches then wired it to the box.
Since that time, i have electoral issues where my fuse box pops when
you use the microwave/toaster (I have replaced both and still have the
same issue).
He was late or never showed up when he stated he
would be on site. I helped him put in the ceiling! but he still wanted
to charge me almost twice the original quote.
I would not go back to him and I would suggest that none else does.

Again, called Brian at 11 am to schedule an appoint, he had an opening stopped by to change a mirror and to replace a toliet seat. He was wonderful and will definately use him for all my future handyman services.

Brian arrived on time and estimated that it would take him the day to do the work. (He charges $50 an hour/$400 day. He suggested skipping the Cable Organizer/Power Kit and just adding a normal outlet behind the mount where the TV would be installed. It was a $60 part and he felt it was more cost effective to just add the outlet. He also was able to take a wall plate and modify it to run the cables (HDMI, Optical) through the wall from the TV to behind the components near the floor.
Initially Brian had to go to Menards, near my house, for the electrical supplies. Work commenced upon his return. One outlet had to be added near the floor for my components to be plugged in and one outlet had to be added higher up on the wall behind the TV mount. We do have access to the back of that wall through the garage, so Brian did make some small drywall cuts in the rear wall which he repaired upon completion. After the electrical was finished, Brian installed the wall mount for the TV and it looks great. The final touch was to run the cables for the TV from the mount area to the floor area. It was kind of tough to fish them through the wall but, after watching him try to get the wires through for a few minutes, I offered to help since I have a skinny arm. Once I stuck my scrawny arm in the wall and grabbed the cables, work was just about complete. Brian cleaned up after himself and did a fine job of fixing the drywall in my garage wall. He was also kind enough to leave me some wall repair plaster because I had a few small holes (unrelated to his work) that I needed to fill in.
I will definitely call him as soon as our budget allows for our next home improvement project!

Brian always returns my call in a timely fashion, shows up when he says he will, accurately estimates probable cost. and does the work well. I have reviewed before, so don't really have a story to tell--but I continue to view Brian as "my" handyman.

Brian was able to determine the problem and fix a leak for us. He made several different trips to our home and even tho it was a small job he treated it like it was the most important job he ever had. We really appreciated the time and effort he put into fixing the problem and for being so personable. It was a pleasure having him in our home. I would definately call Brian if I ever have any kind of repair problem.

Very good ... he determined that it was not the smoke detector, but a carbon monoxide detector that was beeping.
Response from Angel Handy Services Co
"I should mention that for the service call, she still had me put in a new detector since it was furnished and purchased. She also had me look at some lighting issues in her basement as well. Nice family. It was great to meet new customers like them."
