Smart Toyota dealer in Davenport, Iowa said it would cost $1000 to replace-no other option, and it would take a few days to order the part. Took it to PM Muffler in Rock Island. The owner knew right away what the problem was just by listening to the noise the car was making and he explained to me the whole situation regarding the flex pipe and the two ways to fix it. Either replace the entire unit attached to the flex pipe and pay around $600-$1000 or just cut out the cracked flex shaft and re-weld in a new one and it would be just as good for $99.98 and it would only take an hour. Very knowledgeable and did great work, no problems. Fast and professional. Saved me $900 Google maps still lists his old address on 11th Street. His updated and current address is 4621 11th St in Rock Island
