We let our dog outside for a quick pee before going to bed, and unfortunately there was a skunk in our yard and our poor golden retriever got sprayed BADLY (direct shot to face and chest). We had heard of David at Skunkmasters from a neighborhood friend who's dog was skunked last summer, so called him immediately. Although it was after midnight, David was at our house in 30 minutes. He spent 2 hours patiently and meticulously cleaning the skunk oils/smell off our dog. He used the most effective known "de-skunking" formulas (all dog safe). He guarantees his work, and although he removed 95% of the smell the first night (which is the best that can be expected, and good enough that we let the dog slept in our bed that night!), he came back the following two days to do "touch up" work for no additional charge. He also cleared out the skunk smell that got into our house through the garage (where we kept our poor dog while waiting for him to be cleaned). I hope my dog never gets skunked again, but if he does I will use Skunkmasters again and only do it myself as a last resort. It's not exactly cheap, but worth every penny and very fair for the time spent and service provided. Although the formulas and cleaning techniques are publicly available (including on Skunkmasters' website) the process is quite unpleasant and challenging - your dog will likely be distressed, and covered in skunk oil that you do NOT want to touch, let alone stick your nose into his fur as you progress (which David did frequently) to make sure no spot is missed and that the oils are breaking down properly. Our golden was very squirmy and resistant, but David handled him extremely well and was very careful around his eyes and other sensitive areas, and was focused on keeping the dog as calm and comfortable as possible.

What Skunkmasters has perfected is an effective, all weather, formula and methods deployment system. Eye and ear safety, and skin and coat pH management are key parts of the process of de-skunking dogs and cats. Use of the formula without those metrics constantly in mind is not acceptable to Skunkmasters. Rapid (measured in seconds) and safe odor removal in homes, without the use of dangerous petrochemicals which mostly, at best, only cover up odors, has been a real problem and one which we have only recently solved. Our house was permeated with a skunk smell. David came out and used one of two methods he typically uses on houses which in our case was a smoking method (that he had formulated ) to counter the skunk smell. There seemed to be an immediate improvement in the odor after leaving the house and coming back.

He came to my house. Usually doesn't serve my area, but came anyways. He treated my dog and offered to come out for a second treatment free of charge. I was very impressed.
