I had a prior experience that left a sour taste in my mouth but still wanted to give the shop one more try. My wife took the mower to the shop (I had helped her get the mower in our SUV but couldn't make it to the shop due to my work schedule) and needed assistance getting it out. The gentleman at the shop didn't hesitate to help get the mower out, got it serviced within 2 days and put the mower back in the SUV (since I also couldn't make it to the shop to pick it up due to my work schedule). The mower has run great all summer and the sharpened blade has meant that when I mulch instead of bag the grass, I can hardly see the grass clippings since the sharp blade mulches up the grass much better. He also took the opportunity to switch out the 'rake' blade and put the normal blade on (I had forgot to ask him to do this) the mower. All in all, I will continue to use this shop for all my outdoor equipment needs. They have great prices and know how to service lawn equipment.

My mower broke - it wouldn't start. I took it to Village Mower intending to leave it to be fixed. Mark, the owner, took a look at it and fixed it right on the spot! I have taken my mower to Village Mower every spring for a clean and check and to sharpen the blades. They always do an outstanding job. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Now I realize that it is the middle of winter, but didn't get my mower serviced before winter arrived so I thought today would be a good day to finally bring it to the shop, get it tuned-up, oil changed and sharpen the blades. I've used this shop before for getting my snow blower to start and they did an excellent job on that service need (it required soaking the carbuerator in solution for a week to get the build-up off of it). However, the rudeness I was greeted with when I brought my mower in was appalling. I thought this was a nice shop. This belief has been blown out of the water. The guy at the front desk (I don't think this is the owner, but he represents the business when he greets someone at the front desk) looked at me and asked quite rudely why I was bringing a mower in as they are only repairing snow blowers. Never asked that I bring it back at a more suitable time...he just said, all mower stuff is put away, can't repair it now, and again wanted to know why would I bring a mower in now. He was so rude, I was speechless as I drove back home with my mower. And all I could do when I got home was post this information and look for a different place to bring my mower, 2 snow blowers, chainsaw and other small equipment for repairs in the future. This shop must be doing extremely well in order to treat repeat customers as rudely as they did. I really have to reassess whether I can bring myself to go back to the shop. Right now, I am considering going 10+ miles out of my way to have my small engine maintenance performed at another location. I am all about supporting the local businesses, but this particular business doesn't seem to need any support. It's a shame. I am posting this on Angie's List in the hopes that this business can respond to this negative report, address the issue with me and try to re-gain my trust by providing a solution.
