The Riverside Garage is truly a community treasure. It would be difficult to overstate the level of personal integrity and professionalism that they deliver to the Southwest suburbs of Chicago on an ongoing daily basis. While I?ve taken my cars to them to repair for more than 20 years, I clearly remember what it was like with previous repair shops. And, there?s no comparison.
On at least a half-dozen different occasions, I have dropped my car with them to repair along with my self-diagnosis of a likely serious problem. Upon my return to pick up the car I?ve been shocked to learn that there was either no charge
or a very low charge due to the minor nature of my problem. Here are a couple examples
?No, you don't need new plug wires and a full tune up. We just reconnected one of your vacuum hoses. It now runs fine.  No charge.?
?No, your CV joint is perfectly fine. What had happened was that you lost a little rubber grommet and dirt was getting in the boot. We put in a new grommet and you?re good to go.  No charge.?
Larry, Rick and the rest of the staff of the Riverside Garage are by far the fairest people I've ever dealt with in the automotive repair business. As Rick once told me when I brought that fact to his attention, "Look John, we get plenty of legitimate business. We don't need to create more work by scamming customers."
On other occasions I am charged a fair price for the work done. It's always done quickly and effectively.
My family and neighbors have all grown to realize that the Riverside Garage is truly a breath of fresh air.

I could tell about my good auto mechanic. They are reliable and they are thorough. They have excellent customer service and they're very competitive with their price.

Everything was perfect. The owner of the shop is very knowledgeable. This place might be a little more expensive.

Based on Angie's List recommendations, I had the car towed by AAA to the Riverside Garage. Contacted Rich to tell him it was coming. He allowed as how he was very busy but would work on it. Got car back next night. Thought price and service was very fair. Also asked advice on other problem which he provided.

They did it and finished by the end of the day.

These guys are by far the best garage I have ever worked with. There are VERY honest and charge a reasonable price.

They're honest, fast and reasonably priced. You'll never pay more than you were quoted. Always accomodating, and helpful. They'll pick up and drop off, even drop off car in driveway when repair is done. I'd never go anywhere else.

We have used them 27 years. They always get the job done in the allotted hours, they have good hours from 7 am to 6 pm, they're very reasonably priced, I've known these 2 men that run this place for 27 years, and have given us nothing but, double A service.

Service was done as promised and on time. They are very good about estimating how long they will need your car and stick to it. I have been using them for 16 years and have been very happy.

When I call Riverside Garage Larry usually answers and works with my schedule to fit me in as soon as possible. This time I called the week before to schedule a time. I dropped off the car and the keys and left a contact phone number. They are always willing to give me a ride home but I didn't need one this time. The work took a day and a half which is what they had estimated. The price was also right on target.

Larry was friendly when I called, and told me to come in as soon as I was able to. Got lost on the way (didn't know the area) but he gave great directions when I called for help. I accidentally called him by a different name, and it became a running joke throughout my visit. Rick drove the car with me as the passenger to hear the noise. He said if it was something they could not do quickly, they would have someone drive me home. It took about 20 minutes for them to get to my car (I expected that, I came a little late in the day), but Rick quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. He told me to be on my way, that it was really simple and I owed them nothing.

This company verified that there was a warranty on the engine and told me to talk to the dealer. There was in fact a warranty which saved me $320. They also do not do any unessesary repairs. Very honest.
