It went very well. We were a little unhappy when they left because they were so awesome to be around. We have zero complaints.

In the kitchen, they removed and disposed of suspended ceiling, replaced the old flourescent light with four recessed ceiling lights, and patched the walls and ceiling so that they are ready for final painting. They also replaced the floor tiles in the kitchen, along with one of our bathrooms. They found the electrical wiring going from the kitchen to the adjoining pantry was in very poor condition, so I agreed to pay them $150 beyond the original contract to replace that wiring. They cleaned up most of the debri, but did leave a fair amount of sawdust, etc. for me to clean up.

I had originally requested the work for the spring, but it got delayed a few months as Lappin was fairly busy with other work,

Mr. Lappin and his crew were punctual, quick, and adapted to project as it went.

The price they quoted us was $152,000. They are correctly in the process. We liked that they are doing what they said they would do. Lappin is very personable and his workers seem to be nice. We have no complaints about them. We decided to use them because they had done some work for some friends. I felt that we had a good relationship with the owner and the crew.

Tile -- Everything went fine. Work was done at time agreed on. The area they installed the tile in looks much better, it was a real upgrade to my apartment. A beautiful job. Light fixture - everything done well and professionally. The new light fixture looks great, makes a real difference in the appearance of the bathroom. Painting well done. Lappin may cost more than others but it is worth it to have everything well done.

In certain regards, we were not satisfied, but overall, it was done quite well.

We noticed craps in our drywall and in our foundation. I brought out another construction company and he told me to go try AL and we found him on there. He came out and he assessed it. We were satisfied with what he came up with. We felt he came up with a low cost solution.

Ivan was very responsive to our needs. He paid attention to what we wanted and made useful suggestions. He took responsibility for ordering all supplies and fixtures for the bathrooms and kitchen, after we had submitted a list of the things we wanted (obtained mostly from Community Home Supply and Lee Lumber, which has good kitchen cabinets). We might have been able to get the work done more cheaply elsewhere, but we have stuck with Ivan for four separate projects because he's such a good person to work with.

Ivan performed a very careful analysis of what materials would be required to replace wooden beams and posts (damaged by termites/water) in our basement with steel. He consulted with a structural engineer to verify the appropriate beam sizes to bear the loads associated with the house. His estimate came in significantly higher than another bid we had for this work, but his careful analysis has led us to consider using him for the project anyway.
