Was referred by our real estate agent, which concerned my father in law. But Rob put his concerns to rest almost immediately. He was polite and professional. He was very meticulous in his survey of the house and found a lot of issues the seller didn't know about. It seemed like he was flying through the inspection but he would stop anytime you had a question and would stop after finishing a room to go over the summary of issues and recommended fixes. He promised the full 46 page report by7am the next morning and he didn't disapoint with its delivery at 3am! At the end of the day I needed to bring in 4 specialists to look at issues further. 3 of them could not believe that he spotted some of the stuff but in the end it helped us take a huge chunk out of the sales price. He was worth every penny. If i hear any of my family or friends are going to buy a house I will adamantly recommend Rob from High Point Inspections.

He did a great job. He thoroughly inspected the various parts of the property and explained every issue including what was wrong, what needed to be done, and why. He took time explaining everything and made sure I had a strong understanding of every issue he discovered. This was my 3rd home inspection thus far and by far the best. Price was a little higher than what I'd paid before, but it was worth it. Highly recommended.

Inspection went well, overall. Various issues of concern were found and called to the attention of condo buyer, which could have cost him thousands in repairs at a later date.

Rob arrived on time, did an absolutely truly professional job and provided thorough feedback, first verbally before leaving the site and then in his excellent and very systematic inspection report, coupled with photos of repairs needed to make the house what it should be for purchase.

Both of his incredibly detailed home inspections led us to back out of two homes that had major issues. Rob is extremely detail oriented and very knowledgeable. As if often the case with people who are the smartest people, they tend to be arrogant about their knowledge of a situation. Rob is far from this. He explains everything thoroughly. Explains the risks or rewards of every situation. When we find another home, we will be working with Rob again to perform the inspection. Hopefully three times is a charm.

-- June 2014 Update, we did find a home! And Rob did the inspection (Dec 2012 apx). He was spot on with everything that was wrong with the house. Within the year I have had to replace the washer, repair the dishwasher, rebuild the chimney, and get new flashing around the chimney.

At the recommendation of my realtor I contacted High Point Inspections to schedule an inspection for a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath duplex in Chicago. From the moment I spoke to Mr. Koncius on the telephone to make the appointment to the moment we departed with a final handshake after the inspection, I felt confident that I was in good hands.... Not because my realtor recommended Mr. Koncius but because he came across as skilled & knowledgeable from hello to goodbye. On the day of the inspection he started out by providing me with a general overview of the inspection process & continued by assuring me that he would answer any questions that came up & that he would come back to me after completing each section of the inspection to provide me with an update of what was what (whether I was with him: discussing as we went along and /or finishing up the area we were inspecting & turning to let me know what we saw / found; or not with him: he finished inspecting the outside of the condo & returned to where I was sitting reviewing the paperwork & speaking with my realtor to let me know what he saw and / or didn't see & why this was good, bad or indifferent). He used a digital camera to capture all the areas of the inspection, a thermal imaging camera to confirm that there was no moisture or mold behind the walls (something I was more concerned about since there was a water stain in one of the bedrooms); and an electronic gadget to enter notes regarding the inspection. He arrived a few minutes early, did a thorough job inspecting both levels inside and the outside of the condo and answered my one million and one questions and did not give me the impression that I was asking a stupid question. Each question was answered with the same level of enthusiasm making me feel as if I'd asked a good question each & every time. He engaged me by providing me with additional information. Useful things that I would not have known to ask or was aware existed. After the inspection I felt that I had a good sense of what was what and where things were. Mr. Koncius was very sensitive of the fact that I was on day 4 of my 5 day period and assured me the report would be emailed to me, my realtor & my attorney later that evening. He delivered. Also, in addition to the great service High Point Inspections provided me with a 90 day limited warranty.
