Bob did some siding and gutter work for me in December 2006. He was recommended to me by someone I knew. He did a very good job then and his price was very good. Also, I called him late 2009/early 2010 for a very minor repair to the siding. I called Bob in late November 2012 and explained what I wanted done with the front porch. He came out on a Saturday and I showed him the front porch. He gave me a quote of $260 and said he could do it the following week. He came the following Monday with a helper, Gary. They covered over the bead board with vinyl and reset the little fixture. They also cleaned the light fixture. The front porch looks much better. While they were working on the front porch, a mold inspector I had contacted came. That's another report. Recently, I found out I have mice in the attic. To find the mice, I had to have some insulation work done. That's still another report. The insulation guy noticed I had mold in the attic. The mold inspector came to assess the attic. While the mold inspector was here he was surprised to see that none of the soffit vents were connected to the attic even though he did see the vents on the outside of the house. The house is about 80+ years old. Apparently, when the outside soffit work was originally done, they never cut out the wood behind it so the soffit vents could ventilate the attic. Also, the front portion of the attic did not have any roof vents to help circulate the air in the attic. I spoke with Bob and he said they had the time to work on the soffit vents, too. After Bob and Gary finished the front porch, they connected the soffit vents to the attic and charge me just $150 extra. The total cost came to $450. The attic now has proper ventilation.
Description of Work: Originally, I wanted Bob Nordby to replace the material over the front door. It is old bead board that was painted and did not look very good. Also, some of the wood was cracked. In November, I discovered I had mice in the attic and I wanted to make certain this area was not a possible entry way into the house.
