We had worked with Mike Lozeanu for a previous hardwood flooring project in our living and dining room and we determined that we wanted to bring the same wood into our kitchen and family room to complete the first floor.  Mike was responded to our initial email within a day and quickly checked to determine the availability of our same Cumaroo flooring and then came out to view measure the space.  He worked with us to determine a good time to do the installation-when my husband could be available at home  and I could take our dogs out of the home for a week.
Mike and his team had to also level the subfloors of  the family room which is actually the result of two additions done to the  original house and which varies as much as 1.5 inches from onside of the room to another.    When they began the job, they also encountered about 5 layers of previous flooring which they effectively removed and carted away.  The additional layers did add a day onto the job, but the fact that they did everything the "right way" further upped our opinion of this company.  The installation was still completed within the time range we were original told and the results were as great as we have come to expect.  Additionally- my husband was working on our upstairs bathroom when he hit an issue with the floor-Mike and his guys took a look and provided some valuable advice about the options to fix the issue.
We had additional flooring left over and that precipitated the idea to use the flooring for a walk-in closet that we were planning to remodel.  When I contacted Mike he provided and reasonable estimate on that install and also on refinishing some of our original oak flooring upstairs.  When the day of installation started- Mike reviewed the original flooring and recommended we wait to refinish the upstairs floors until all of our closet remodel was done  - to make our remodel more efficient and to avoid any rework.    His team leveled the floor of the closet on the first day and installed the new hardwood on the second day.  We were again pleased with the promptness of the project and the quality of the work.
We will be contacting Mike in the next few months to determine a time for the refinishing job on our upstairs floors.  He and his team are our "go-to" flooring guys.

We actually found brothers Flooring through a neighbors recommendation.  From the initial contact by phone , Mike was very responsive and professional.  He returned all calls and emails within a day.   Mike was very educational during the estimate process- explain what could be done repair wise with our current oak flooring and our options if we choose to replace the oak flooring and  how each option would resolve the issues we had prioritized.  We decided to replace  as that afforded the opportunity to eliminated the squeaking floor  and we opted for pre-finished hardwood to minimize the timing we and our dogs would need to be out of the house - our two high priorities.

We determined a couple of wood types we wanted to consider and Mike brought samples- including one that his distributor had a special deal on.  We ended up opting for this special deal wood not only because of the deal, but also because it was beautiful with a variety of shading and was an extremely hard wood with a strong finish that Mike thought would hold up well to our two dogs.  I did have a moment's hesitation when the wood initially arrived and Mike quickly offered to meet me at his distributor to view other options to confirm before they began the installation.  We decide our first decision was the best and this "Brazilian teak" or Cumaroo wood has become our favorite flooring and we have received many compliments and questions about the wood.

Mike explained that the process would take between 5-7 days -for them to remove the old floor, repair/reinforce the sub-flooring and install the new floor.  Mike arrived with one member his team on the first day - and though Mike had to move on to check another job his workman started the tear-out of the old floor and had it half way complete by the time a second workman joined him around midday.   By the end of the first day the tear-out was complete, the reinforcement of the sub floor had begun and the old wood and some old carpeting had been cleaned up and carted away.  My husband came home and his first goal was to check the squeaking floor boards- however no matter what he did- the floor wouldn't squeak!  First goal accomplished!!  The finish of sub floor and the beginning of the new floor installation occurred the next day and by the end of the 3rd day the new floor was in.  Mike and another team member returned on the 4th day to finish installing the base moldings and install some custom vent covers and everything was complete before Noon.

We were very please with the quality of the flooring, the workmanship and the prompt completion of the job and determined then that we would contact Mike for any future flooring needs.

They showed up on time and completed the work quickly and on budget. There were some issues with the finish. I've tried many times to resolve but they never get back to me. It has been almost 5 months of emails, texts, and calls - I've given up. Aside from the finish issues, everything looks great.

Overall, the experience was pretty good. It took them 4 days to complete the work. There were a couple issues with the product. The sample the y provided and the finished product were different width plank. It was never explained to me there were 3 different width planks. But it is down and it looks nice.

I had contacted Mike after getting quotes from some other people. We had a small job and needed it done while we were out of town so our kitchen remodel timeline could continue on schedule. He came out before we left and said that he would be able to do it while we were gone and we had decided on natural stain. He seemed more knowledgeable than the others that we had talked with and his prices were only slightly higher that one quote and the same as another quote. They came at the time that was stated on all 3 days and my father-in-law was there to let them in. We had talked about one board in front of the stove and he said it would have to be replaced. When we got home, the floors looked great, but the board that was supposed to be replaced was filled with wood filler. It was a big area so it clearly should have been replaced. It is really only noticeable to us, but we said if anything changed from our original conversation that we wanted a call. When we got home, we had to call them and ask them come out and get 2 spots that they had missed, they said they would be over 2 days later. When they did not show up, I called and left a message with both Mike and Stefan and never heard back. I emailed them as well. It has been 4 weeks now and I still have heard nothing from them. While the job that they did was very nice, I would not use them again because they can not finish the job. We planned to use them on our entire lower level and will now look elsewhere. Not coming to finish a job when you have said you will and not returning numerous calls and emails is very unprofessional. Another odd thing was that they never issued us any kind of receipt for work done and payment given.

Mike was very responsive and his quote was about 33% less than the other two quotes we received. The work was done well and within budget (both from a time and cost perspective). The floors look great!

Mike never got back to us with a quote. This does not reflect well on the company. If the job was to small or to difficult Mike should just say so instead of stringing people along. We were potential customers with cash in hand trying to make a decision and move a project along. We were respecting his time by waiting for his quote and ended up wasting our time.

Brothers Flooring finished all of our hardwood floors in our 100 year old home when we purchased it in 1996. We just did a kitchen remodel and had to have that floor redone, and we just top coated the rest of the first floor because it had been 13 years. They did a very nice job. It was nice working with the same people that had helped us in the past.

The estimate was a little pricey, but when it came to matching our color, Mike was the most confident of any provider we talked to. We had seen a pre-finished floor we liked and Mike said he could come close to matching it by getting the stain from the floor manufacturer. Other providers would not match color; if it did not come straight from the can of stain, forget it. Mike said he would get the actual stain from the floor company. When it came time to stain the floor, Mike told me that the stain was water-based and he could not use it because it would be too dark. I said to thin it and he said it would be too blotchy. I said I didn't care. Then he found that he could not get the stain in the quantity he needed from the company. He then denied ever saying he would use this stain. Finally, after some bickering, I agreed to go to his supplier and work with the color mixing guy to find a suitable alternative. After several attempts, and a lot of wasted time, I found something ok and he finished the floor. The stain looked good but there was a problem. The varnish had tiny bubbles all over it and it would not dry for days. When it did "dry" it had tiny white rings that looked like water spots all over the floor. After some research and talking with other professionals, I suspected too much pigment in the stain that contaminated the varnish and would not allow it to dry. Months later it is still soft and scratching easily. Mike said the scratches are because of the dark stain, "scratches show more", but other contractors said there was something wrong with the varnish. There were other problems. After the install, a split developed in a plank in the middle of the room. During the install his installer tried to cheat me out of doing a full glue down because he did not have enough glue, something I was being charged $400 extra for. I caught him and called Mike and he brought more glue. They got a lot of stain on the baseboards. They used the best long planks hidden under the kitchen cabinets and a lot of little pieces in the middle of the floor (???). After some effort to correct the problems, they finally blew me off and I never heard from them again. They did not charge me the final $1000. On the good side, they were always very prompt and neat. The floor is still tight with almost no gaps after 4 years!! It is straight and they paid attention to some important details. Overall, I felt I was lied to a few times during the project. The worse part was not acknowledging the soft varnish issue.

They were courteous and prompt. The price was totally terrific! It was half the quote I received anywhere else. They did an absolutely great job, the floors are gorgeous. I am really pleased with these people. I would absolutely hire them again.

They met with me, listened to my needs and concerns, then showed me several products in my price range. The product they suggested is great, but most impressive is the quality of the installation and the finished product. They were on time (early, actually), and were totally professional, neat, and efficient.

It took two phone calls to arrange an estimate, but I was very happy both with the estimate and professional demeanor of the representative. Within a week, the company 1. arrived on time; 2. completed the sanding and first two coats of sealer, 3. arranged a next day return to complete the final coating; and 4. returned on time and completed their work. All of the company workers were polite and professional and very industrious. The floor looks wonderful and I am completely satisfied with the outcome.

Knowing that the installation could be disruptive, I scheduled the work to be done while we were out of town (and out of reach). There was no small amount of trepidation as I opened the door upon our return but no need to worry-the floors looked fabulous and the work was executed with great care and precision. I am thrilled!

Mike and his team showed up at the promised time. They indicated that matching a stain to the surrounding floor is always tricky (since I am cheap I did not want to do the whole floor). They sealed off the room to ensure that dust would be controlled (please note that dust-less is to refinishing as Sylvester Stallone is to MENSA.) They even sealed off all AC ducts to ensure that dust would not be sucked throughout the house. After the work was finished they cleaned up their mess and proudly showed me the PERFECT match to the rest of the floor. Not only was Brothers priced right, but they also did an excellent job.
