07/22/2016  I contacted Mike DeRosa around April 26th, 2016 to repair a leaking fuel run and gas lines in a vacant apartment. He shared with me that he was getting a divorce and requested payment to be made in his name. I complied since I needed work done asap. I requested from him up front a copy of his certificate of insurance showing workmen's comp. He assured me by phone and text messages his "insurance company would fax over" what I needed. I have documentation of our text messages. He started work on April 27th. He was paid in full that day. He returned the following day because the gas line did not hold pressure, After assuring me he had workmen's comp insurance, he ignored my text and phone messages. I found his office manager (Ruthann) from other reviews and she indicated she would get this done. She called later to find out how much we paid for the job. After that call, we did not hear from her and no replies to my phone calls. I left a final voice message. To my surprise, he called our Resident Manager and asked that we fax to him our contact information. We called and texted to confirm receipt of the fax but no reply. On June 7, 2016 my last resort was the Better Business Bureau, complaint number is 11486505. I requested an invoice, lien waiver and certificate of insurance showing workmen's comp. On July 18, I received an email from the BBB with his reply and I quote, "we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused any party involved, our company is in the process of relocating and just a little busy at present time. I understand the importance of customers and value their business. Requested documents have been sent by way of United States Postal Service as we speak. I hope this satisfies the situation and again i apologize. "On July 20th, I received the service invoice, lien waiver and an affidavit of exemption for worker's compensation. I have done business with many contractors over a long period of time. I have never heard of anybody or experienced anything like this.
