Our unit was not cooling and inconsistently starting. it's an older unit but they have kept it working well. Woody came out quickly and found that a part was malfunctioning and replaced it in a timely manner.

They arrived when they said they would, and went right to work.  Measured air flow at each vent, and then adjusted the louvers so that the flow was the same in each room.

Then they started adding vents, over the doors and into the fan box of the furnace.  They added a sheet metal flow from outdoors to get more air in, and added a flow into the furnace fan box to get more air into the blower.  They added a basement thermostat that would turn on the fan when the temperatures hit a set level.

The work was accomplished in somewhat less than three hours.  The only obvious changes cosmetically were the new vents, and they looked just like the old ones; and the new thermostat in the basement.

They were very professional, started work right away, no dallying while here.

The result obvious to us is that the temperatures throughout the house are now about equal.  the basement is no longer so frigid in the winter, and feels more comfortable (better air) in the warmer weather.  We seem to hear the fan on more often, and the furnace/compressor on less often, which would be good.

The only reason we quibbled about the price is that we have not measured any change in our heating / cooling costs.  Our impression is that the costs are down, but we haven't measured it directly.  If they are, then the price was well worth it.

The Power Zoning system works great. We run it all the time and it saved money on our air conditioning bill. I have had it for year now and all floors of my house are the same temperature. We have young kids with a baby, and the upstairs was so hot the kids would wake up in the night.

Mr. Bates scheduled the work to be completed at a time that was convenient with my busy schedule (which is usually the other way around for most companies). He arrived on time, was extremely professional throughout the visit, and delivered on his comfort guarantee. The work was done in less than 2 hours and I couldn't be happier. The temperature in all room of my home is the same year round. The power zoned air conditioning system has already paid for itself with the money saved on energy bills. I highly recommend Power Zoned Air Conditioning to everyone that is experiencing temperature discomfort in their home. Don't allow pricy contractors to convince you that you need additional systems or expensive repairs. There isn't a home that Power Zoned Air Conditioning can't fix!!!

After showing me how much warmer the 2nd floor was than the basement. We had him install the Powe Zone equipment. After the installation the temperature of my home became much more balanced. It increased the air circulation and best of all lowered my heating and cooling bills.

Powerzoning was part of the installation of other ducts that I needed done and I tried to break out the approximate cost of just the Powerzoning component. After seeing a friend have this furnace modification done (in unfinished space) I gave it some thought in my remodel since we needed an air return in the basement. The premise is basically that by adding another return into the furnace itself and not the existing return duct, the system pulls more air through and does a better job at balancing the temperatures on different levels of the home. I'm not exactly sure if I describe it right. There is a better explanation on their website. Anyway, once we finished the basement and moved into it, it's been quite comfortable and our first floor is better off too. Since we did this shortly after moving into house, I don't have much of an energy savings baseline, but I can say that often, we can just set our thermostat fan switch to "on" instead of "auto" and leave the air conditioning mode off. By doing this, the furnace fan just circulates the air already in the home, so if the basement is cool, that air goes elsewhere. Of course, we still run the air conditioner in summer and when it's hot and humid, but the "shoulder" seasons of fall and spring seem to allow us good climate control just by using the furnace fan. Powerzoning doesn't seem to have any negative effects in winter either (one of my main concerns). The only downside to this is now we have another air filter that needs to be replaced every 3 months just like the main furnace air filter, but its a small inconvenience. Overall we're happy with the work and if it's something that helps cut down the utility bills, all the better! The photo attached shows the main furnace on the right. The main visible part of PowerZoning is the round duct they added to the back side of the furnace. There is a 16x16 return air grill on the other side of the wall in the finished living area.
