This service was entirely disappointing. I felt as though I had "been had," by a shady mechanic. In the end, my initial concern was never fixed (the car stalling while driving), but I did not want to spend any more money at this establishment. I originally took my car in because my car started stalling while I was driving, and had stalled several times while in the middle of a left turn. I had taken my car to the dealership with no success in determining the cause of the problem. The dealership suggested I replace the transmission, but wasn't sure if this would solve the problem. Last Chance Auto is reasonably close to my home, so I decided to take it there because I could walk the miles home if the car stalled. At first, I truly believed in these guys. They seemed to know their stuff, and told me (of course) that the dealership knows little about these kinds of issues with their cars. After testing my car and some diagnosis, they determined it could be the transmission (this would be expensive), but they could try cleaning the throttle body in lieu of doing major work. Additionally, they had found I had a bad wheel bearing. I wasn't surprised about the wheel bearing. I had moved from Chicago and the potholes were very bad in my area. My concern about the work was the cost and payments accepted. They said they offered 0% financing for 6 months, so I agreed to get the wheel bearing replaced and have them clean the throttle body. When I came to pick up my car & pay, I was told that yes, they have 0% financing, but when I looked at the paperwork, it included a ridiculously high monthly "service charge." So, in the end, I had to pay for the work done on my car in full on the spot, and my car stalled again in less than a week.

The work was performed well, in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. Communication was an issue for me personally. My husband handled the bulk of communications, and seemed fine with it. However, when I went to the shop in person, I got the "you are a woman and don't understand vibe", maybe just me, but communication seemed a little rough with some, not all, of the staff.
