We had an indoor, in ground pool and we wanted to get rid of it as we hated it and we were looking for someone to do that for over a year. Unfortunately we couldn't find someone with Angie's list, we were happy with. We called a lot of people in Angie's list and it was all a dead end. We eventually hired Cicero's Development Corp., the owner's name is Sam Cicero, and they do all kinds of stuff and this company is top notch. The owner, his architect and project manager came to give an estimate. They were so professional, experienced and had pages and pages of references, they had so much experience in different kinds of things. They were so organised and there was so many great things about them that we were really happy and decided to go with these guys, we trusted them. In the end they finished the project, it was finished under budget and before the due date. The job they did was just impressive and they were fast, professional, and totally cleaned up after themselves. They did the work for us, they went to the local city to take care of any local issues, zonal issues, and ordinance permits etc. They did everything from cradle to grave and they were really easy to work with. My husband and I have already decided that if we have any more things to do to the house, they would be the company we would be calling. We had to remove lots of stuff, there was a in ground indoor pool, there was a Jacuzzi, lot of equipment, and a lot of pipes that ran through the concrete around the pool. They developed a plan on how to go in and out without going through the house. They did a plan on how to do it without destroying the yard in the process. I don't know what they used to get rid of the pool. They had to create various kinds of layer. There was a pump at the bottom and we had to turn it on to get rid of any water down at the bottom over the first year. We had to put in different layers of different kinds of things, like a layer with that type of thing, a layer with this kind of stone and so on. We had to put in rebar and mate it with the slab that was going on top of where the pool used to be, to make it one strong piece. After everything was removed and done, then they put in a furnace to heat it in the winter time. They were expensive, but were awesome for a little extra money.
