I wasn't quite sure what to expect from their very modest showroom, which doesn't really have the professional feel as many other furniture stores. But I quickly learned that this is a small operation with a helpful staff that indeed seems to work directly with the Amish manufacturers. We selected a relatively standard high-end dining room table and chairs after viewing several sample models they had in stock. This is a long table with a few leaves, and very high-backed chairs, all in 100% quarter-sawn oak. We weren't that keen on any of the stain colors; everything seemed too light or too dark or too red or too brown. Not a problem, the owner told us; they have a new color that sounds like what we want. So he got us a nice sample of quarter-sawn oak in this stain that we could keep, and it was indeed exactly what we wanted. They had plenty of fabric samples for the chairs, and we easily found one we liked. They quoted us a price, which was very attractive. It was a bit better than anything we found on the internet (again, this is a relatively standard Amish set), and was waaaaay better than the price quotes we got from another fancier Amish furniture store. In fact, the price was so much better that I was a bit skeptical. We needed the set for Thanksgiving, but unfortunately for us, their expected lead time put the due date right before Thanksgiving, which seemed to me like a disaster in the making. But the owner very graciously promised that if the set wasn't ready, then we could borrow the nicest dining room set that they had on hand for no extra charge. Wow! Again, it seemed almost too good to be true. The week of Thanksgiving came, and sure enough, they delivered our new furniture two days before Thanksgiving, exactly as scheduled. They were very careful getting it delivered and the owner walked us through how the leaves fit. We were absolutely amazed at how beautiful and high quality everything was. We are used to making tradeoffs when buying something this nice.... we didn't expect to get a great price, quickly, with friendly service, from a local shop. But we indeed got all that. So this small mom-and-pop local business deserves all the positive praise I can give them.
Description of Work: Custom made Amish furniture, specifically a large dining room table and chairs.
