We found a house we fell in love with. We looked it over 3 times and decided to make an offer. The day we made an offer, Traders had another couple interested and invited them to make an offer as well. When the other couple who undoubtedly  felt as pressured as we did,  agreed, we were informed this would be a single one-time chance and to make our very best offer. I felt uncomfortable and made the decision to offer a bit more than my previous max. We are cash buyers and we wanted a home inspection and repair to brand new sink that had been cracked.   Well we lost the house by $2500 and no stipulations. That isn't what bothered me as I was uncomfortable paying that much anyway.  It is the practice of creating a bidding war to drive up price and commissions. I could have purchased the house for a couple of thousand less and negotiated the fix to a couple of problems had I been allowed to negotiate. This process took negotiation right off the table. I immediately dismissed the agent and will not make an offer an any  house listed by Traders as we continue our search. This practice is disgraceful and should be illegal. If it happens again with another Realtor, I will simply look for FSBOs only.
The overall rating I gave reflects the end result. Everything was going along fine until that.
