He left, I called their dispatch again and they told me that they'd try to find someone else to come out the same evening and that they'd call right back. After over an hour I called THEM back to inquire about getting someone out that night. They apologized for the inconvenience and said that no one would be able to come out that evening. I had to reschedule, for my one day off in two weeks, and live with a backing up drain for another 2 days. They didn't offer to compensate me in any way or really seem bothered by the fact that they cost me to lose a half a day of wages.
Summary, if you don't mind taking unpaid time off of work to sit around and wait for them to eventually show up only to tell you that they didn't bring the proper tools and that you're out of luck, then Reading & Sons are the perfect plumbers for you!
After one look at our shower/bath faucet, the plumber said I was wrong when I had tried to report information about the faucet model to his company. He also said there was nothing he could do to help me, except for replacing the whole faucet with identical hardware. After calling the local plumbing supply store that typically has older parts (Nailons), he told me that I was out of luck because they didn't have any of these faucets and that these faucets are no longer made.
When I asked him what my options were he flatly said none. He didn't not offer any suggestions of replacing the plumbing with modern plumbing or new hardware. We were prepared to remodel our whole shower if it was necessary to restore function to our faucet, and this company did not even offer us this option.
As I was trying to ask him more questions, he opened my front door and stood with one foot out of my house.
When I was unsure of what questions I could ask to get his attention, I said 'OK thanks anyway.'
"We had two previous service calls attempting to fix your faucet with parts that you provided. When the faucet started dripping again, the next step is to replace the faucet. We will be more than happy to give you a price to replace the faucet. We have to charge the plumber's time, so the plumber knew he was not going to be able to repair or replace the faucet at this visit, so he was trying to keep his time low for you. Please feel free to give our office a call and we can discuss your options. Sincerely, Reading & Son Plumbing, Inc"
