Made the purchase through Jenny at the Peoria location. She was very helpful in guiding through selecting the best available flooring option for our budget, as well as coordinating the entire process through installation. Matt and Dean were our installers. Installation went very smoothly. You could definitely tell they had been working together for some time as the process went very efficiently and the results are beautiful.

Millworks installed a Ipe floor (sometimes called Brazilian Walnut) in our house. There were several problems:1. The installer asked us to pick out the "bad" pieces that we did not like and put them into a "discard pile". Unfortunately when the lead installer left the site, one of the workers assumed that the "discard pile" was the "good stack" and installed every single one of the bad pieces in a prominent location. 2. To make things worse they cut out the bad pieces with a dull rotary saw and without a working vacuum to catch the dust.  This  caused burnt sawdust to disperse thoughtout the house - leaving the wonderful smell of burnt sawdust. 3. When they installed the flooring, they left no clearance around the edges. I asked them about it and they said it was supposed to be installed that way, which is of course wrong. 4. The flooring has since shifted and Millworks refuses to stand behind it - they claim our humidfier was not good enough.

Millworks subcontracted with Wood Floor Solutions and Todd Vansaghi was in charge.  The person to give me a quote called because he would be a little late. He arrived when he said he would. Men to actually do the work arrived the day and time that they said they would. The sanding was amazingly dust free, although the process was noisy. I worked at home the day they did the work, and they were considerate about trying to keep the doors closed so that I could work.  The were really patient when it came time to decide a color for the stain. They tried three colors, and concerning the one I thought I wanted, they did a pretty large "swatch". I learned how extra nice this was because they had to sand off all of the sample stains (more work). The next day they applied the polyurethane. The floors were stunningly beautiful. There was only one problem. The got a little bit of the floor stain on the quarter round of the baseboard. I called the salesperson, and I left a note for the workers. When I got home, they had covered the problem areas with a stain or something that matched the baseboards really well.  I was satisfied.
