Barry from Kreiling was incredibly quick to respond and worked around my travel schedule to do a quick estimate, which included getting up into the tiny attic opening to check out the chimney. It didn't seem to be a scheduling problem at all that the company is based out of Peoria and I live in Bloomington. There was no delay in them contacting me. Barry kept in close contact, via text message, which I liked/preferred and gave me several options for repair, including a less-invasive option and a bigger, long-term option that he noted I didn't really need to do. (I was worried I needed a new roof, but it turns out my roof was replaced right before I bought the house six years ago; I hadn't realized...) He got me a formal estimate from the office by day's end, and I was surprised by how reasonable it was.
When I called them back to schedule the repairs of the flashing around the chimney, they were at my house within 2-3 days, I think it was, and didn't even need to bother me while I was working from home and on conference calls. They were done without a few hours at most. Barry knew I needed to pay by a certain time (to take advantage of a low interest rate on my CC), so he hand-delivered a bill to me within the week and picked up the check himself and made sure the office manager had it deposited by my deadline. THAT's service.
A few weeks later, it rained super-heavy again and the water staining came back, but this time only on ONE of the three walls of the chimney column. I took pictures and texted them to Barry, who wrote me back *immediately* saying he'd send his guy out there that day to check it out, which he did. The other guy confirmed with Barry that I needed a chimney cap, and I ordered the work done. It was done within the next 2-3 days as well and the bill (this time not a hurry) arrived promptly within about two weeks. The chimney cap cleared up the problem, and I haven't had any trouble with the chimney since I last called them three months ago.
