My son had his grandfather take him and his bike out to Illinois Cycle & Fitness to have a broken left shifter mechanism fixed. When I returned home from work I asked if it was fixed and he said yes and they only charged him $24.00. I went down to look at the bike and found nothing had been done. I called out to talk with their service department to find out what had been done.
I talked to the service tech and he told me that my son had him fix the right shifter mechanism. He then told me that the right one was also not working and really nothing else on the bike was working, like the brakes and that it was poorly assembled. I asked
him if he had mentioned any of the other problems and he said no but I could bring the bike back out and he would fix the other issues. At this point I was a little upset and asked him if he wanted me to drive from East Peoria all the way back to the far side of Peoria. He then hug up on me.
What kind of store sends a 14 year old child out with a device that was not functioning properly and could cause harm?
