DEMANES ANIMAL HOSPITAL

I cannot say enough good things about Demanes Animal Hospital and all the staff. We are so lucky to have found such truly caring people! From the receptionists to the veterinarians. Everyone is wonderful. Dr. Addy especially went above and beyond for our sick puppy. He would personally call to check on her and always fit us in when she needed to be seen. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Demanes truly treats your pets like family. We have experienced the joy of getting a new puppy and the heartbreak of loosing a pet with them. They were all beyond supportive and patient! Thank you Demanes Animal Hospital!!!

They were very good and caring with the dog. I got not only calls to follow up on how the dog was doing, but was told over the weekend that I could call at any time if I had problems. So they were very available and helpful. Even two weeks after she was home I got a call from the doctor, and she kept me really informed about what the lab results were and how things were going. The communication was really good.

I didn't like Dr. Demanes' attitude. Somewhat cocky and unhelpful. Although I really liked 2 of the other vets, I found them somewhat wishy washy, as in "What do you want to do?" when asked about treating a dog with kidney failure. Worse yet, I found out that they're charging 150% or 200% of what other (good) vets in the area charge! In one case, I was being charged 69 cents for a needle that cost less than 5 cents to buy. I really felt ripped off. The last straw was when I asked for a prescription so that I could try and buy IV fluids for my dog at a lower cost (they were charging me $21 a bag for something I could get for $4 a bag) and they refused. I finally changed to Meadowbrook and have never been happier. Not only are the vets better overall, but their vet assistants are actual trained professionals with a certificate (not just people who needed a job and would accept a low pay wage like at Demanes). And vets at Meadowbrook not only gave me prescriptions for anything I needed (in case I could find it cheaper; we're talking about 9 months of treatment with every-other-day fluids), but also sat down and gave me a line by line review of my dog's medical chart and test results and wrote down a specific treatment plan. If you're tired of getting ripped off by Demanes Animal Hospital, vote with your feet. Get a better vet!

Took my pet in for his annual exam; we've been going there for many years and had been happy up to this visit. But this exam was unacceptable.... the vet was distracted, hyper, didn't make sense. The vet missed a major medical problem and we had to return to get the dog treated the next day. I won't go back.

They were not as expensive as I thought it would be. They seem to do a really good job with the animals. We have been taking our dog there for quite a few years. When I called the vet, I told them I could not get the bleeding to stop. They told me to bring him right in. The only complaint that I had is it does take a long time to get in on a normal visit. Today with the dog I knew I would be there a long time. Just a routine visit it's busy you can wait a long time. It's not the worst office I have been to for punctuality.

One thing I did not like about it, is they took the dog in the other room to exam it. And this is just the yearly exam, I really would have preferred that the dog remain in the room where we were. So we could have watch the procedure. For something as simple as a yearly exam, not sure why they had to take it into another room. It kinda lift me wondering. They did do a good job. We are in the process of looking for another vet closer to my mother in laws home.
