AMERICAN MUFFLER & BRAKE

I called on a Friday afternoon and left a message that I would like to bring my 2000 Nissan Frontier truck in for a muffler repair.  The muffler had basically fallen off.  The owner called me back within an hour and I was able to take the truck down pronto  I drove up and he opened the garage door and I drove right into the bay.  He inspected the exhaust and said he'd have to order parts.  He gave me an estimate and I approved the repair.

The following Friday I took the vehicle in at 7:30am and he was waiting for me.  Note that the parts were in sooner but I have Friday's off so that's why it was a week between diagnosis and repair. He drove my truck into the bay and started working immediately.  He worked his tail off removing the rest of the components that were still on the truck.  A 15 year old truck with 200,000 miles had a lot of rusted parts underneath.  He replaced everything and had to actually weld on some new brackets.  He did all this work in just a little over an hour.

After he finished the repair, he wrote up the bill and it was the same price as his estimate.  He also noted that I had a 2 year warranty so he reminded me to keep the paperwork.

Additionally, during the initial inspection he found a differential breather tube that was just hanging there.  He took it off and told me if I bought a new one, he'd put that on when he replaced the muffler.  I took the new tube with me but he also discovered that the nipple that the tube attached to was broken.  He then told me to order that nipple and bring the truck back and he'd put it back on at no additional charge.  I was very impressed with his service.

I have 2 other vehicles and if they ever require brake or muffler work, I'll be going back to AM&B.
