Auto Painting, Auto Body Work
Do you remember businesses that made you feel they really wanted and appreciated you as a customer? Do you recall businesses that went out of their way to ensure you would do business with them again? How about businesses that not only do what they promise, but provide extra attention and services at no charge? If you think these are things of the past, try D?s Paint And Body Shop.
I recently had some damage done to my 2010 Honda Odyssey in a parking lot while shopping. I began the task of working with my insurance company and pricing the repairs at local autobody shops in the area. The first two places I visited seemed competent and reasonably priced. The staffs were very business-like and provided me with written initial estimates of the work. Then I went to D?s Paint And Body Shop. I was immediately struck with the difference in the interaction with the D?s
staff. They thanked me for considering them for the business and spent the extra time to explain the entire process they would use to repair my car. I left that visit thinking, ?I?m not sure how good these guys are, but they sure know how to treat customers!?
For those of you who have been through the damage estimating process, you know that comparing estimates is not a straight-forward task. There are variations in the estimating process that make comparisons a little difficult. After reviewing the three estimates I received, I found that the one from D?s seemed to be the most thorough in covering the components of the work. One of the competitor?s estimates completely omitted the removal of the bumper required to remove the fender. Another included charges for trim items they might break during dis-assembly. After all was considered, the estimate from D?s seemed to be the most complete and was actually slightly less than the other businesses. The only disparity was that D?s had included an aftermarket fender where a competitor priced an OEM fender. I contacted D?s to see how much more it would cost if they used the OEM fender. I told them that I would pay that extra amount. To my surprise, my contact at D?s told me that because Honda is being aggressive in matching aftermarket prices, he thought he might be able to get it at the same price as
the aftermarket fender. He added that D?s might not make as much mark up that way, but they would consider that as goodwill to the customer. He later confirmed that the OEM fender would be at no additional cost to me.
At this point, I had already made arrangements with my insurance company to use a different autobody shop that was recommended by a Honda dealer. I already had a check from the autobody company made out to that business. But because of my treatment at D?s, I decided to trust them to do the job as promised. I arranged for a new check from my insurance company. I scheduled the appointment with D?s and took in my car on that date. When I dropped it off, I asked the office person if I could get a little of the paint used in the repair for touch up use. They noted that on the work order and said they would try to do that. Later in the week I received a call from D?s. They told me that in the process of disassembly, they had accidentally broken a warning sensor in the bumper. They were extremely apologetic and said they ordered one form the Honda dealership and would replace it at no charge to me. When I picked up the vehicle and saw the invoice I was astounded at the cost of the replacement sensor. But true to their word, the cost of that part and the labor to install it was not passed on to me. In addition, they also had a small bottle of paint for me ? again at no additional charge.
The bottom line is that the quality of the work performed was great and the customer service was out of this world. The vehicle looks like new. I couldn?t be more satisfied. I hope you are never in need of painting or autobody work. But if you are, you should definitely go to D?s Paint and Body Shop. You will receive the quality and service that are, sadly, only memories of businesses of the past.
