I had immense confidence in Woodshed Flooring leading up to the completion of the job. The owner was helpful, courteous, and prompt from the time of the estimate, to the time of completion. The major problem was the quality of the workmanship. In one area of the flooring where the dining room (which had existing hardwood) and the kitchen (which had new flooring installed by Woodshed to match the existing) meet, the transition from one floor to the other was great in concept, but fell short in reality. In one area of this transition, the floor was sanded so low that there is a huge dip in the area making the transition stick out more than appear to be an intelligent transition. In the hallways or narrower areas that sanding was required, there were many deep scratches that stood out. One other disappointment was the base trim in the affected areas. He had let me know that they have to take the base shoe off of all of the base board to get their sanders close enough and some of it may get a little stain near the bottom. I was ready to have to touch some of my trim up with paint. I was not ready to have to repaint virtually all of my base trim. In some areas there were stains 4 inches up. I thought this was commonplace until I saw my mother-in-law's home after she had another company refinish her floors flawlessly without having to remove any trim. All of these aspects together made me feel as though I should have just rented a sander myself and attempted to refinish the floors, it may have looked like this after I was done. One positive note I would like to add would be that the finish that he puts on top of the floors is very durable. I have two little dogs that tear around the house as well as spill water on the floor occasionally in the kitchen and the finish is still holding up after two years. I would not hire Woodshed Flooring again.
Description of Work: Refinish existing hardwood in dining room, two bedrooms, and hallway. Also add matching hardwood to kitchen area, then finish.
