TOTAL HOME RESTORATION

The work Kevin performed was good. However the bill he sent was approximately 5x higher than other estimates I received from insurance and other contractors (around $500 was the estimate I got for this job, while Kevin billed $2400.). At the time of service I paid Kevin a partial payment of $1000, Kevin provided numerous estimates for other work related to water damage to my unit and other units in my building. All the estimates for my unit (and I believe other units) were a minimum of twice the industry standard. I believe the amount I paid Kevin ($1000 of $2400 billed) was an over payment (based on subsequent estimates I received from a variety of contractors and insurance). I have tried several times to contact him to discuss his billing, but he has not returned my calls or emails I would not use or recommend this company.

Total Home Restoration was very knowledgeable, responsive, and it was a very good experience. They answered all of my questions. They went over everything with me, prior to doing the work. They were very punctual. All of the sub-contractors that they hired were very punctual. They were very competetive and reasonable in pricing. I would use them again.

We have used this company many times before, they are just fantastic. They are easy to work with and very trustworthy and get the job done correctly. They know how to do most tasks; if not they find the quality person who can.

The estimate was originally $300, but the job ended up being $750. They did find a lot of extras after they started. They did a bang up job for me; the quality was excellent.

A NIGHTMARE. SUB-CONTRACTED THROUGH KDA. THEY DID SEVERE DAMAGE (NUMEROUS SCRATCHES, DENTS, AND CHIPS) TO THE BRAND NEW HARDWOORD FLOOR. THEY JUST USED A FEW PIECES OF CARDBOARD AND SOME BROWN PAPER AS 'PROTECTION'. SAWDUST EVERYWHERE. DID NOT CHECK ON OVEN INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS, AND AS A RESULT HAD TO RIP UP PORTION OF NEW FLOOR TO REWIRE OVEN, FURTHER DAMAGING FLOOR IN THE PROCESS. IN FACT, BILLED ME AN ADDITIONAL (TO ORIGINAL QUOTE) $4,350.00 FOR 'ELECTRICAL ADD-ONS'. ORIGINALLY OUTLETS BY SINK NOT TO CODE (NOT GFI PROTECTED). HAD TO FIGHT FOR THIS AND OTHER ITEMS TO BE CORRECTED. SEVERAL APPOINTMENTS KEVIN AND/OR CREW VERY LATE... A FEW TIMES DIDN'T SHOW AT ALL. I HAD TO REPEAT MYSELF ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AS TO NEEDS. ALTHO REQUESTED NOTICE, NONE GIVEN FOR WATER SHUT OFF TO ENTIRE CONDO BUILDING. HOLES IN DRYWALL UNPATCHED BEHIND APPLIANCES. JUST BAD BAD EXPERIENCE. I WAS ORIGINALLY TOLD THE JOB WOULD TAKE 6-8 WEEKS AND IT TOOK 19 WEEKS.
