On two separate occasions, I had to call them. Once was for my furnace. The serviceman who showed up to "fix" the problem started out by breaking the mother board of the furnace, then informing me that it would cost me an additional $500 to replace it. I didn't break it...Holthaus' employee broke it and it shouldn't have been my expense to replace it. After several days when the new mother board was in, the same service man came and informed me he couldn't fix the furnace, but he could get it to run as long as I didn't turn the heat up past 62 degrees. I had to call Mike, the owner, in order to get my furnace fixed correctly. The second occasion (most recently) was when my washing stopped working. I called them to come look at it, and they were very accommodating with my time and showed up almost immediately, however initially they told me that the part that needed replaced wasn't made anymore and I'd have to buy a new machine (preferably from them). When I informed the young man that this washer was slightly over one year old, he then found a vendor who "still sells parts for this model". He supposedly ordered this part the same day, but it took 3 weeks for it to come in. When I finally got the call from them that they could fix it, again they were very accommodating with my time, but the washer STILL doesn't work. The same thing that was wrong with it BEFORE they fixed it is STILL wrong with it AFTER they fixed it. Now they want me to pay for a second part, and a second trip to the house, and labor for two trips. Horrible service, horrible business, and I will never call on them again.
