The team at PZ Construction is extremely thorough. Paul (the owner) performed an inspection which included both the outside of the house and accessible attic spaces. He provided the most detailed estimate of any of the contractors which included descriptions and materials for each phase of work. The crew was very diligent during the project and performed a daily cleanup of all waste material, etc. All of the copper work is done on site and the team provided picture updates of the various stages of work. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the work performed and will likely use PZ for any future needs.

Paul was professional from the very beginning and he kept to schedule and was very responsive to all questions and concerns.   Given this severe winter we had no bad roofing problems. I will highly recommend him for any roofing job.

Overall I was very happy with them and would use again. Make sure you know exactly what you want and draw a picture (or have pictures) to ensure you know exactly what you're getting.

Falling down plaster in my small foyer ceiling directed my attention to the flat copper roof above. The wood support under the copper in the affected corner was rotten. The first roofing contractor from whom I got an estimate told me I needed to have the masonry repaired before the roof could be replaced. I got the first roofing contractor's name from an internet search. An Angie's list internet search for copper roofs did not yield any contractors. Fortunately I received the Angie's List magazine and saw PZ's ad which mentioned copper roofs. After getting the masonry repaired I got PZ's and another estimate. The one from PZ Construction was the lowest. Before I signed the contract I asked Paul if he could give me an estimate for another small roof. We corresponded by e-mail and after sending him pictures he sent me an estimate for the second roof which also seemed quite reasonable. The work was started the following week and took about 4 days to complete both roofs. I asked Paul about putting additional insulation in between the rafters before the solid core insulation was installed. He told me if I supplied the insulation it could be put it in at no extra charge. The 2 workmen who did the work took about 4 days to complete the job, working steadily and leaving the area very neat every night when they left the job. Working with copper is definitely a skilled job and the workmen really knew what they were about. Because the roofs were off the second floor I was able to see their progress and was really impressed with their workmanship. The first copper roof lasted 80 years which Paul said was about typical for copper roofs in this climate. I'm hopeful that PZ's roof will last as long.

Paul came to the house to look at the job days after I contacted and gave us an estimate both by mail and e-mail within days. We started the quoting process while it was still too cold to work and knew work would not start until spring. When we had questions on the worked covered and on materials Paul came to our house in the evening to go over all questions. After about three round of quotes, because of our changes in skupper design and down spout design, we came to an agreement on the work to be performed and price. Paul's crew showed up on the date specified each day about 7:30pm and completed the work in just under 2 weeks time (there were a few rain delays). The crew was very considerate of my garden and cleaned up the yard at the end of each day. I have had many crews to my house during it's restorations and the PZ crew was very professional.

They give free estimates in a very timely fashion. They gave us reasonable time when they could come and they actually were on time. On the day the job began they came with the necessary material and went straight to work. After finished work every day the premises were always nicely cleaned. The owner of the business was always happy to help us with all of our questions and concerns. His answers were always very complete and satisfactory. He liked at the project as if it was his own house.The work was done on time and in a very good quality. We are very happy we found them.
