It was wonderful. He was on time. I've had work done on that piano before with people saying how difficult it was. He said it was a piece of cake and was done within an hour and a half. He made it all better. Also, he traveled about 45 minutes as well to come and do the job which I appreciated.

Called Dave on a Friday afternoon and, to my delight, he offered to come over the same night since he was in the area. He showed up on time and went right to work. He spent about 2.5 hours tuning, repairing, and thoroughly cleaning the piano. Will definitely be calling him again and recommending to others!

Dave did a great job. He worked for 2.5 hrs and was very prompt. We bought a used piano and I imagine it hasn't been tune for quite some time. We will definitely reach out to Dave in the future.

Everything was great. We hadn't had our piano tuned for over 10 years. I called Dave after getting his name from Angie's list and made an appointment. He was on time, did a great and thorough job, and gave me a fair price.

Dave is the consummate professional. I contacted Dave on a Saturday morning about the possibility of service in the far western suburbs. He replied immediately. The following morning -- a Sunday -- Dave arrived a few minutes early and spent the next three hours meticulously tuning, cleaning, and, in essence, restoring a 50 year old piano, that had been in storage for twenty years, to its former life. Stuck keys were eliminated, compacted felts were restored, and hammer action was greatly improved. The newfound richness of the sound and tight feel of the keys brought back memories of the piano being played by my father in the 1960s. Dave is a great piano tuner, but he is so much more. He seems committed to preserving and rehabilitating the old, and bringing full luster to a near lifeless object. I enthusiastically recommend Dave and will use him for all future needs.

Dave did an excellent job with our piano. My husband was considering buying a new piano for our son, but I convinced him to try tuning our current piano first then to decide. First of all, Dave came on time and went straight to work. You can really tell that he had years of experience under his belt, just from the way he was working. We asked for him to also take a look at the pedals that weren't working too well, and he said he would do that. He ended up staying for over two hours, and I was worried it was going to cost more than the initial cost, maybe even double the cost, but he said it was just the $100 he mentioned and not a penny more. I was honestly pretty shocked by his modesty and willingness to not charge extra. You don't come across businesses like that these days. Thanks again, Dave. We have a pretty old baby grand piano, 40+ years old. We had it tuned 3-4 years ago but that turned out to be a bad experience. It never sounded all that well tuned. The sound became bad enough that playing became too often an unpleasant experience. My wife loves that piano and playing is important to her in all sorts of ways. So I searched on Angie's List for the best rated piano tuner. Dave Lukitsch has the highest ratings. I used the Angie's List message feature to ask if he was available in our area and he responded very quickly. We set up a time for the next day. David arrived 10 minutes early. He was courteous and personable. He asked questions and listened carefully to everything we said to give us an understanding of what he thought should be done and why. He also said what he did not recommend we have done and why. He tuned, voiced, and cleaned the piano. He also worked a bit on the treble hammers, sanding them to balance better with the rest of the register. He worked carefully, not rushed. And he did an outstanding job. The piano sounds better than it has in many, many years. The sound is noticeably brighter, on key, and the touch is nice and crisp. We could not be happier with the outcome. When next we need work done on the piano, we will call him. It is a pleasure to give him our very highest recommendation.

I found Dave via Angie's List and was able to schedule an appointment within 3 days. He arrived promptly and went right to work. Our piano had been in storage so it needed cleaning and tuning. Dave was very professional and knowledgeable about the piano. The piano sounds great! We will definitely use him again for the next tuning.

Dave was great. He responded immediately to my request for service via Angie's List and scheduled a time to come out. He arrived right on time and went to work. My piano is an upright and about 35 years old. It had not been tuned in a couple of years. He spent about 2.5 hours tuning, cleaning and repairing a key that was sticking. He was efficient and ensured that all dust and debris was vacuumed up before he left. Dave wanted to charge me $100 but I wrote him a check for $125 because he did such a great job. I highly recommend Dave for piano tuning and repair services. I will be using his services again in the future.

He came on time for the appointment. Informed me of the total cost and went to work. He worked diligently tuning and cleaning the piano. He took approximately 2 hours, during which time he was constantly working despite the goings on in the household at the time. After he finished I paid him by check. I was very pleased with how the piano sounded after the tuning.

I contacted him 6/17/2015 and he suggested he come the next day at 2 p.m., which was fine with me. He was on time, he was polite, and he sat down to tune a Chickering upright that had not been tuned in two years. Then, not only did he tune the piano meticulously, he cleaned every part of it, including dusting and vacuuming the interior, between the strings, etc. That had NEVER been done before by any tuner. In fact, it had never been done at all by anybody and the piano was purchased by my late mother in 1974, then moved a total of three times. Not only is he an expert tuner and absolutely thorough, he has an is incredible talent - I suspect he has perfect pitch but I didn't think to ask him. Anyway, he tuned the piano by ear and when he checked with his electronic instrument it turned out he was right on. He was here for 1 hour 15 minutes, working every minute. He never stopped even when we were having conversations about everything from movies to my family, his family, etc. So not only is Dave an expert tuner, he's personable and I really enjoyed talking to him. When he was finished and told me how much he was charging, which included the senior discount, I was shocked - $90! Never in my life, dealing with anybody for service, have I absolutely refused to pay what was asked because I thought it was much too little! I argued with him and he finally agreed to take $100. As far as I'm concerned he deserves all the great reviews he's received here on Angie's List - he and his service are AAA!

Dave thoroughly cleaned and tuned the piano for 2.5 hours. He explained what he was doing when asked and even found a sticker of the last tuning. He took the piano sections apart and cleaned inside both top and bottom. It was a very thorough and comprehensive job at a very reasonable price for the length of time. I will gladly use him again when the time comes.

He cleaned it up and did a really good job on it. It hadn't been played in 30 years and he was awesome. It took him hours to get it done. He went straight to work.

Dave did an excellent job with my piano which has not been tuned in 30 years (it was my mom's). He took a lot of time, cleaned and explained as he went and offered to come back no charge to do extra tuning to a string he replaced. He spent 4 hours and only charged $150.00. He will absolutely be my tuner in the future. Great job and very professional service.

I am submitting this letter to commend Dave Lakitsch on the excellent piano tuning service he provided for me. I recently moved and needed to have my piano tuned for the Christmas Holiday. The service I normally use was booked until after the holidays so, I was desperate to find someone expeditiously who could service my piano in time for my annual Christmas festivities. I asked around and Angie's List suggested Dave Lakitsch. Immediately following my request for service, I received a response. Arrangements were made for piano tuning services within my time frame and a date was set. Dave Lukitsch arrived on time and immediately began servicing my piano. Two (2) hours into the service I noticed the piano was totally dismantled and arranged on the floor. I had some reservations however, Dave discerned my concern by the questions I asked and quickly explained to me what he was doing and why. After Dave shared this information with me, all of my concerns ceased because he clearly knew what he was doing. The detail and attention Dave put into the process far exceeded any piano tuning I've ever had. When Dave Lakitsch finished, the unit sounded the way it initially did when I first purchased it. The unit comes with a CD player and I hadn?t heard the instruments sound as distinct as they do now since Dave restored my piano. Even with the additional four (4) hours put into tuning the piano, Dave kept the cost to a minimum. The service Dave provided was exceptional and second to none! Let the music play! Dave was very prompt and professional. He spent an unusually long time on the piano, tuning, and also cleaning thoroughly which I had not seen from a tuner previously but definitely did appreciate! But the main work, the tuning, was not quite up to par. He seems to be very light handed when tuning, which I think causes issues in the final tune. Meaning, most tuners will tap intervals, notes, octaves, etc., from light to harder to compare and have a better idea of the overall tune. Dave seemed to just lightly tap the keys. I tend to be a little heavy of a player, so I heard the twangy-ness ( I think I just made that word up) that was missed during his tuning. Overall the pitch of the piano seems slightly flat as well, but that could be due to the temp changes. Although, this piano has always seemed to stay on pitch very well over the seasons. Why didn't I call him back? Well, I'd suppose I would get the same technique and result, so I'll just wait until the next tune interval and try someone new since Im new to the area. This just wasn't a good overall tune for me. Sorry.

I particularly liked how Dave would tune a section of the piano, then cross-check with other sections to make sure the entire piano had a consistent tune. Price is very reasonable -- I will go back to Dave at the next tuning.

Dave did a wonderful job tuning our piano, which had been moved from out of state and not tuned for many years. He was very detailed and thorough and I was really impressed.
