Jim was very professional, down-to-earth, humorous, and quite entertaining. His competence was superior. I am going to use him regularly for clock repair and maintenance.

Tick Tock Clock came out and worked on the clock to get it started. It is a grandfather clock that has different chimes. He had to work on the clock to get the ticking started and then he worked on the chime to make that work. Would you believe, he called me about a month later and I told him the chime had quite working. I just shut the clock down since I was unhappy with the clock. I told him and he made an appointment and came out when promised. When I wound the clock the pulley jumped off the wheel. He put it back on and the clock is again chiming and keeping time. Here's the best part. He didn't charge me for this visit. I am a happy camper.

Excellent service from locally-owned company. He called in advance of appointment, and was able to come earlier than anticipated, which was good for me. Very friendly and knowledgable about Howard Miller clocks. Will definitely call again.

He showed me that I was ripped off by another guy who charged me $600 and didn't fix it. He was just amazing.

Jim Denno is very polite and professional, and I found it easy to contact him by phone and by email. I expected my clock to be gone for several weeks, and it was, but I had to call every 9-10 days to ask Mr. Denno if he had discovered the problem and if he would be able to repair it. He was always very nice and said he would call me back shortly, but then the next week I would have to call him again, worrying because he had not called back. After 5 weeks he had fixed it without first giving me an estimate. Nevertheless, I was very happy with the cost of the repair, and my clock is chiming and running perfectly.

He was very knowledgeable and helpful. When he found out I was from Angie's list he said that all the people he knew from there were nice.

It was $50 to come out. It turns out the mechanism needs to be completely overhauled. He actually has the clock right now and quoted me around $500. His name is Jim Jano.

Jim came to the house, looked at the clock and explained that the mechanism had outlived its expected life span. Because I didn't want the mantel clock to chime, the solution he offered was ideal for me. He returned the original mechanism in case someone would want to try to repair it. Oh, he also picked up the clock and returned it, saving me hours of driving.

He did an excellent job and was very personable. This clock has been passed down in my family and has great sentimental value. He told me things about it that I did not know. When putting it back together, he even took time to help conceal some of the scratches to the cabinet that occurred during all our moves. The clock seems to be working and it is very nice to hear the chimes again after all these years. He explained alot of why things work the way the do on it which helps me understand better how to care for my clock.

The owner, Jim, was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He examined and adjusted the clock and provided an assessment of the condition, life expectancy, cost to rebuild, and how to take care of the clock. He also examined and provided advice on two other "heirloom" clocks without charge.

I have a valuable clock and he gave me some valuable advice to maintain it. He price was reasonable.

Mr. Denno came at the appointed time, was exceedingly pleasant and earnest. He gave an estimate that he would stand by even if the work turned out to be more time assuming that he expected. The clockwork was returned on time and have been beautifully repaired. I had some trouble adjusting the rate of the pendulum. Mr. Denno made an additional house call with no added charges to show me how to reset it. This was an excellent experience.

Very good process, everything went according to plan. Jim arrived in time, gave us tips regarding how to care for the clock in the future, installed it without a fuss.

Jim is very thorough. He has a knack for details and truly is dedicated to getting the clocks up and running. He's very responsive and though the project took longer than anticipated, he did a good job of keeping us posted on the progress.

My initial call was returned the same day, we scheduled time for examination without any problems, communication was very easy, everything was on time, the clock works great now and we have a finest memory of the tick-tock repair company. So if you happen to have non-working clock you can give yourself a double treat: Repaired clock and acquaintance with Jim Denno.

Jim was willing to come almost immediately when we called him. We set the appointment for a day or two later. He was on time, worked very quickly and neatly and did a great job. We gave him our large cuckoo clock from Germany which has been broken for several years to take with him for a complete overhaul. We agreed that this does not need to be done until after the holidays.

We have used him for over 10 years and hope he will find someone to take over for him when he retires. He explains what needs to be done and why, something that was lacking with our previous person who retired.

Jim was friendly and clearly loves clocks. When I made the appointment he mentioned that he would call me the day before to remind me, which he did even though it was a Sunday. He left me with good tips for maintenance.

It was all very easy. He works out of his home, but has several drop off locations throughout the area. Conveniently one in Palatine. He called with an estimate, and called again when the work was done.

Mr. Denno called before the appointment to tell me when he would arrive and he arrived promptly at the time the appointment was made. He was polite, did the work, and left.

I CALLED JIM AT 10:00 AM...HE HAD A CANCELLATION AND WAS ABLE TO COME OUT AT 5:00 PM. NOTE: JIM DOES NOT SUBCONTRACT. HE AND HIS WIFE DO THEIR OWN WORK. IT'S OBVIOUS JIM LOVES CLOCKS AND HE SEEMS TO BE VERY METICULOUS AND GOOD AT WHAT HE DOES. I HAD MY GRANDFATHER CLOCK SERVICED 12 YEARS AGO IN MILWAUKEE AT A PRICE OF $75. JIM'S CHARGE WAS $90 WHICH WAS, I THINK, VERY REASONABLE. I WILL NOT HESITATE TO USE ALL TICK-TOCK CLOCK REPAIRS AGAIN.
