Tick Tock Clock Repairs

Alex is not only knowledgeable and professional, he is considerate and kind. My brother’s grandfather clock stopped chiming. We contacted Tick Tock Clock. Alex came to the house. He needed to take the workings back to his shop to repair. He gave a 11/1 completion date. Shortly after, we received word from our doctor that my brother’s cancer had spread and he has only a few weeks to live. My brother was sad that he would never hear his beloved clock chime again. I called Tick Tock and told Alex. He spent his entire weekend making the repairs needed. And returned to install it the following Tuesday. We wheeled my brother into the living room, and he heard his clock again. He cried. So did we. Thank you Alex. We are forever indebted to you. We were so fortunate to have found a company so passionate about his work. And a kind heart.

Alex determined that a cog on one of the wheels was worn down and that's why the clock stopped ticking. He disassembled the entire movement and took it back to the shop with him. He indicated that the repair would take about two weeks.

Dropped off the clock at their drop-off location at Byring Jewelers in Palatine three weeks ago. Pickup clock yesterday. Clock chiming is not working properly. Clock alternates the one chime it should have on the half-hour with multiple chimes all over the board. Also, chimes only once on the hour even though it shows 4, 6 or 12 o'clock. Will need to bring it back for further review. Had to bring back two more times as clock still didn't chime properly and then the bell striker wasn't coming in contact with the bell.

We recently used another company to help is with a English grandfather clock. I was not impressed, i dont even think he new how to take it apart. After that experience, we called Tick-tock, and we set a appointment up with Vicky. The person who visited us was named Alex. He was professional, diagnosed the problem and took the clock in to be repaired. After completing and doing the delivery, it now works perfectly! I am so thrilled to have this heirloom up and running. A+

Excellent. Alex was timely in returning our call for an appointment and was on time for the appointment we set. We had expected that he might have to take the guts of the grandfather clock into the shop, but ultimately that was not required. The appointment lasted just under an hour and Alex was able to resolve our issues without having to take parts of the clock back to his shop. It has been four weeks since the service call and everything is great.

Alex was running a little late and he called to let me know he would be at my house in 30 minutes. I showed him the grandfather's clock and he asked me if anything was wrong with it. Just need an annual maintenance cleaning and adjustment. He also looked at the mantle clock where the big hand fell off and all it needed was a pin to hold it in place and he fixed that in less than 10 minutes. He didn't charge me for this repair.

I used the Angie's List coupon offered plus paid a deposit to have the clocks repaired. They were picked up in March. The Seth Thomas needed new internal works and the Elgin needed a new battery operated motor. I was told parts needed to be ordered for both and to expect the repairs to take approx.4 months. After a 2 month delay due to unforeseen circumstances, the clocks were returned to me. The Seth Thomas had all new interior workings and the Elgin was restored. They both work beautifully and they chime and keep the correct time like they haven't done for a long time. The clocks have a 2 year warranty and if I have any questions, I can call.

I will use this service again and recommend it without reservation.

We couldn't be more pleased! My online request for service on this 35-year-old grandfather clock was answered within a couple of hours, and included a very reasonable estimate for the work. Alex came out two days later to do the repairs. He saw exactly what was wrong, fixed the problem, oiled the mechanism, and answered all our questions. I asked if there were some way to mute the chimes, and told him every other service person who had worked on this clock over the years had said no, but thought I'd ask anyway. He was surprised, said it's actually an easy thing to do. He was able to change the position of the hammers so the chimes are so much nicer now. There was no extra charge. Why no one else was willing to do that, we'll never know. Alex is very knowledgeable, pleasant and cheerful and was a pleasure to work with. The clock is keeping perfect time, sounds great, and we are completely satisfied with the work. We will never call any other repair service for this clock or any others we have. We recommend Tick Tock Clock very highly!

I dropped it off at a local jewelry store and someone from Tick Tock picked it up from there. The first time I sent it in it took three months until it was finished. It worked at the jewelry store when I went to pick it up, but when I got it home (12 minute ride), it didn't work. I returned it to the jewelry store, and this time it only took a month to repair. Again, worked at the jewelry store, didn't work when I got it home.

Have used this clock repair service before through the years. Left an antique wall clock at their pickup up point at a jewelry store in Palatine on April 5th.. Receipt was given to me under Tick Tock's name. Forgot to mention on the receipt that the clock keeps stopping after only five minutes. Because I left this information off, I called the repair shop on Apr. 9th and spoke to Jim Denno letting him know what the actual problem was. He said he would be calling me back as i had asked for an estimate.

Called Jim Denno on Nov. 17rh and he said the earliest he could come to service my grandfather's clock would te Dec. 8th.  I said ok and he indicated that he would call me prior to the appointment to confirm.  JIm's son, Alex, called on Dec. 1st and indicated that they had a cancellation asked if he could come that afternoon to service our clock. I said "ok" and within an hour he was at our house.  He worked on the clock for about 45 min. and then told me that some gears might need to be replaced in a year or two as the clock was now 15 years old.  He was polite and professional.
