Fraczek Renovations

The process with Peter started off ok but quickly deteriorated. He would show up on time and was fairly polite. He completed some minor plumbing in the bathroom and installed a bathtub. We ordered a window for our bathroom through him and gave him payment. He said the window would be ready in two weeks and he would pick it up and perform the installation. We wrote him a check for the 1st installment of work he had completed. The check did not clear because we forgot to transfer funds into the correct account (embarrassing). We promptly wrote another check, which he cashed, and the issue was resolved. Peter subsequently became unreliable and would sporadically show up for 45 minutes...perform sloppy work and leave. This continued for a while and when I asked him about his poor performance, he said he had too many jobs. Meaning I was at the bottom of his list. For over a month, Peter would say our window was ready for pickup and he would be there tomorrow to install it. After repeated broken promises, very sloppy work (taking shortcuts), showing up for only 45 minutes a day, I had enough and fired him. I also told him if he did not have my window, which I had payed for (by Saturday) I was going to call the police. Well that got his attention and he pulled up on Saturday, dropped the window off and drove away. I then hired another plumber and contractor who had to fix his sloppy work.

Peter's quality of work was always good and his price was great.  We gave him an A on most job aspects and a B on professionalism because the workplace wasn't always cleaned up well and the material acquisition was rather informal at times.  But, if you are looking for good quality work for a lower than average price, Peter is a great choice.

 It is beautiful.  Peter was able to show us mantels in a catalog and then created one in his workshop for a fraction of the price.  He also built the cabinets from scratch.  He is a great carpenter.   I am very happy with his work.   He did all the work himself. He was there when he said he would be and did the work in a reasonable amount of time  He is a good family man, that I trust having in my home.  

 Peter was here when he said he would be and did the work in a reasonable amount of time.  There were no hidden costs and no surprise costs and I am happy with all the work he did.  Most important for me, I hate it when I have workers I do not know or trust in my home.  Peter had helpers, but he was always here with them and I trust him completely.  He is a good man. ALSO:  Peter did a Fireplace for us a few years earlier and his carpentry is first rate.  He built the mantle and the built-in cabinets on either side himself, saving us thousands of dollars.
