"We are appalled by this show of extortion! We have actually contacted the Daily Herald to inform them of this issue & make them aware of the fact that these bogus claims against small business owners happen every day. We have substantial proof that debunks everything being claimed against us. When the car was returned to the client's home, we informed the daughter of an electrical problem. She said that "they have been having problems with the electric system for some time." After the client called claiming we caused issue with the CPU, we made our own calls to multiple Volkswagen dealers & spoke with their head mechanics. Every dealer we spoke with said exactly the same thing, which is, that there was NO way we could have caused any damage to the CPU because of where it is located in the vehicle. Its location is in the dashboard underneath the firewall next to the engine compartment. According to the experts at VW, the person making this bogus claim is even mistaken about the location of the CPU. They went on to say that the 1999-2002 Jettas have had many problems with their CPUs. We can prove all of this with licensed VW mechanics. However, we feel this person didn't even speak with one because the quote she provided us looked questionable, as it did not even have a mechanics name or contact information. Our response clearing shows that this claim is nothing more than a pitiful attempt to extort money from a hard-working, honest, family owned & operated small business."
