DEE'S PALATINE LAWN MOWER & SMALL ENGINE

no so well.

I honestly cannot express enough the lack of professionalism with this company.  I brought in my mower for a crack gas tank.  After calling and finally able to pick up the mower 6+ weeks later, I questioned the receptionist on why she did not communicate with me or call me back.  I'm assuming the reception woman is the main owner's wife because the guy in the back immediately came around and started to get in my face about me questioning her.  I have never in my life been in a shouting match with an owner for a business in front of other customers before.  Stay away from this business.  They do not treat their customers very well.

The main drive belt on my lawn tractor failed in the middle of my 2+ acre lawn.  I called several places, but decided to try Palatine Lawnmower.  The tractor broke down on a Thursday, and they picked it up the next day.  I was prepared to wait two or three weeks to hear from them, but they called on the following Thursday and said they wanted to deliver it the next day.
They did, indeed deliver it and it works great!.  The repair person had not only replaced the primary and secondary drive belt, but also the engine pulley, fuel filter and air filter.  The whole tab came to just a little over $300, including pickup and delivery.
I am very satisfied with the work.  These guys have my business from now on.

They had the blower for two weeks and nothing was done to it.  When I called to check they said that maybe the next week - one of the tech's was out.  I told them not to work on the unit and that I would pick it up on Saturday.  When I went to pick the blower up the tech handed me a unit that wasn't mine.  I told him that he gave me the wrong blower and he found the correct one.  On my way out the tech told me "you should have brought it in sooner" - I responded that "I brought it in when it stopped running".  Never again which is too bad - the previous owner was a pleasure to do business with.

STAY AWAY! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! The customer service experience was horrible. This business had my mower for 3 months and could not get it fixed.  There was no call backs. I had to follow up with them. Every time I called the lady did not have any information and was rude. Each call that should have taken 3 minutes took 20 minutes.  I had to go into the store to get information and talk to the technician. It was frustrating all because of the lady working the phones. She was lost and unorganized. She had not idea what customer service was or how to speak to customers who are spending money with them. They do not care about your time and only care about taking your money!


I have live in the Palatine area for several years I prefer to use local businesses. This business is by far the worst company in the Palatine area.

They did the repair quickly (4 days) and the unit now works properly. They returned the old parts. Cleaned the unit. They were willing to help unload and load.  Easy to deal with.

Deere riding mower had a bad cell in the battery, but at time I was unable to figure out the problem. I called Dee's and explained the problem. They indicated they would pick up mower on Friday 9/24/2010 and they determined the problem and had the mower back to my house on 9/30/2010. Very responsive and great experience. Would use them again.

They picked up the riding mower as promised and returned it as promised. The price was reasonable and the mower runs smoother than it has in years. They also helped repair the seat without being asked. The edging that holds the cushion in place was no longer attached to the seat.

I was very pleased with the work done. It was done within two days and the price was reasonable.

They picked up and delivered the 14 year old Ariens lawn mower on Wednesdays one week apart. It had stopped working after developing a banging sound on start and stop, finally quitting altogether. It came back a lot cleaner than it left. It may have been faster and would have been $35 cheaper to deliver and pick up myself, but the convenience was well worth it. This is the second time I've used them, very happy both times.

Very well. They picked it up, fixed it and returned it in 2-3 days. Price was reasonable.

I dropped the mower off on a Monday afternoon, and the gentleman working at the time even helped unload it from the back of my truck. It was ready on Friday, as promised, but took a couple of minutes to find the help ticket when I came to pick it up. This really wasn't much of if an inconvenience, as the front room is full of some pretty interesting things (someone there is an avid fisherman). The mower ran great when I got it home. The price was reasonable. Overall, it's an interesting local business with good people. I would definitely recommend it to others.

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT SMALL BUSINESS! BOTH WHEN I DROPPED OFF THE LAWN MOWER AND WHEN I PICKED IT UP, THEY HELPED ME UNLOAD AND LOAD IT. NOT ONLY DID THEY FIX IT, BUT THEY ALSO CLEANED IT UP. I DIDN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE IT AS MINE! THEY WERE FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL AND EFFICIENT.

THEY DO GOOD WORK. THEY DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY WILL DO. THEY PICK UP THE MOWER WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL.
