I'm sorry about this, but I have rarely been so disappointed with a potential service. They quoted me a frankly ridiculously high price for cleaning/oiling the clock (that's all it needed as far as I knew, and they didn't say anything about a serious problem after they gave it a preliminary check). And the wait time until it would be done...5 months...maybe that's why they treated me with such indifference, because they didn't need the business.

I've used them before.  I don't remember the price being excessive.  You can hear the clock right now, so it's working.

The winding mechanism in my mantle clock broke and I took it to Chicago Clock for a free estimate.   What a nice experience it was; the young lady I talked to was very courteous and helpful.  The estimate took about a week to complete at which time their technician told me that the clock needed a complete cleaning and overhaul at a cost of $150.  He then indicated that he could replace the mechanical movement with an electric one for just $75.00, which I decided to do.  My clock works perfectly now.  Thanks Chicago Clock!  

I was really impressed by the professionalism of Becky, who waited on us (my husband and I). She looked over the items I brought in and pronounced them fixable..to my relief. The clock and watches hadn't worked properly since I tried to get them fixed about 6 months ago. The watch repair person turned out to be a useless fraud and I was afraid that he'd messed up the original workings of the items I brought in...an original Tiffany and 2 original Seiko watches. The Hamilton was also an original and was a retirement gift to my father-in-law from Western Electric back in 1976.

I was amazed when I got my Tiffany and one of my Seikos back....AND THEY WORKED!! These were gifts to me back in the 80s and hadn't worked since then.

Becky stated that the Hamilton needed to be re-conditioned and we are waiting for a call to pick up that and my other Seiko watch.

I have a lot of confidence in this company which makes up for the very bad experience that I had with the last "watch repair" person.

Although Palatine is not just around the corner, I will go to them with all my clock/watch repairs in the future.

They did a very good job.

I didn't answer the above question re would I use them again in the future. My answer is: I am not sure. Their work was ok, but the repair was not major. The bracket clock needs a complete tear down and...I just have some reservations about them for major work on a valuable antique. This may be unfair.
