We recently hired them to install a storm door as well.
We were pleased with the price quoted by Aspen. Their installers were extremely courteous and professional throughout the job, which took approximately one week to complete. We appreciated their attention to detail, and the fact that they consulted with us before completing the interior trim work, to assure that it met with our style preferences. The Aspen installers cleaned up after themselves every day, inside and out, which was important to us, since our baby was 10-months-old and mobile at the time of the installation. The also protected our floors and furniture throughout the job. We highly recommend Aspen Exteriors, and will definitely consider them for future exterior improvements, including siding and gutters. We are also pleased with the windows we selected, and are glad to be rid of the cold areas in our home that were caused by our old, leaky windows with rotting exterior trim.
We had to call Aspen to come back and finish some forgotten trim under the kitchen windows. They responded promptly and completed the job without question or additional charge, despite the fact that we put off calling them for several weeks.
"In response to the footnote, The contract clearly states, "Replacement of rotted fascia board at additional $4.32 per ln. ft." There was extensive rot on the house that could not be seen until the work was being done. Most of the work we do has no extras, but when there is extensive extra work we must charge for it. The installers always show the homeowner any extras before starting. In this case they thought the extras were included, which were clearly not, as stated in the contract."
Just a footnote - About 4 to 5 weeks after we paid the FINAL BILL, we got another invoice in the mail for another $860 because they under estimated the original contract. We have been going back and forth with these people and they insist we pay the extra amount ( not in the contract). Finally they told us they would accept one- half of the extra money they billed us for. I still am not comfortable paying this extra amount and what's funny is they didn't credit us for the extra shingles and aluminum they took back. I am not happy with these people - they did do an excellent job but I feel taken advantage of by their billing practices.
"Thank you for submitting your review to Angie's List. However, our contract clearly states "Replacement of rotted fascia board at an additional $__ per ln. ft." It is only during removal of existing product at the time of installation we are able to detect any rotted wood. It also states at the bottom of our invoice that "Any additions to original contract will be invoiced separately." We apologize for any confussion this may have caused."
